I JUST BOUGHT THIS LITTLE GENERATOR IN THE EVENT OF POWER FAILURES DUE TO STORMS ETC. THE UNIT ARRIVED IN GOOD SHAPE & APPEARED TO BE SOLIDLY BUILT. FUELED IT UP WITH 50 TO 1 MIX & FIRED THE UNIT UP. IT DID START ON THE 2ND PULL & RAN FINE. THE UNIT IS LOUDER THAN I THOUGHT BUT IT DID RUN WELL WITH NO PROBLEMS. PLUGGED IN A RADIO & LIGHTS & THE UNIT POWERED THEM FINE. LET THE UNIT RUN FOR APPROX. 2 HOURS WITH NO PROBLEMS. ALLOWED THE UNIT TO RUN OUT OF FUEL & STORED IT AWAY UNTIL I MIGHT NEED IT. GREAT UNIT BUT IT IS LOUD & REMINDED ME OF MY 2 STROKE SNOW THROWER. IN THE SUMMER IT MIGHT BE A LITTLE LOUD FOR THE NEIGHBORS BUT IN THE WINTER IT'S NO PROBLEM. AGAIN WE WILL SEE HOW IT HOLDS UP WITH USE BUT IT SEEMS GOOD AS OF NOW. It arrived with a broken spark plug even though the box did not have much damage. Just bad factory packaging. It runs fine but expect a little heavy exhaust as in any 2 cycle engine.I tested it with an electric heater at 500 and 1000 watts and it ran fine. I hit 1500 watts for a minute to see if the breaker would pop, it didn't. I suggest you don't change from a high load to a low load while its running, it causes over rev. I don't plan on using it for a constant power source only when needed while camping.It's small and light weight, convenient to travel with.For light use it should be fine but I wouldn't depend on it for an "Outage" situation. I have a large 6500 watt generator for that.
I wouldn't have paid srp $199.99 for it but for $99.00 it's a good deal.
Customer Review: Broken spark plug, but works otherwise

As with many of the folks here, my generator arrived with a broken spark plug. It seems that sticking out the side puts it at a greater chance of damage. It might be best to have the end user install it ... but that also assumes the end user will read the directions and/or be competent enough to understand what needs to be done.
That having been said, once the plug was replaced, the unit started up on the second pull. It rev'ed up to speed and wasn't too loud. Still I wouldn't want to be next too it for too long (but that's what extension cords are for). It easily powered the equipment I needed it to (a TV and satellite receiver ... all I need in an emergency). Other than the hassle of the spark plug, I'm very satisfied with this little unit.

After reviewing the clear instructions,I filled the tank with the proper 50:1 gas/oil mixture.This generator started on the 2nd pull! I hooked up my outdoor pond pump,a fan & a patio light to the generator. They all ran without a hiccup! The generator's governor maintained a constant speed & output as the loads were introduced. The unit is easily carried with the attached handle. Surprisingly quiet, I was able to carry on a conversation jus a few feet while it was running!
I must admit ,I wasn't expecting much from a $99.99 generator, but I have been amazed at how well it has been performing. Understand,you will not be able to run your home A/C unit off this generator, but for camping, working in the field, or emergencies it is great!!!

The unit I received is actually the Trion 1800, 1200-Watt generator and not the Blue Max 1250-Watt that I ordered. There was no explanation as to why the switch was made. I noticed there is a slight difference in price, the Trion being less than the unit I was charged for.
However, after reading the manual, attaching the handle and putting the gas mixture in the tank the Trion 1800 started right up and seems to run and work fine. I have no complaint with it. I believe it will meet my needs. I have only run it for the breakin period with a light load to date so I can't comment on its extended use.
If ordering again from this supplier, I would be more cautious to make sure the item matched my order.
