Customer Review: Will have to update on this
Summary: 3 Stars

The first one I received had a huge crack in the engine. I'm glad I noticed it before adding fuel. It took me awhile to figure out how to contact customer support but once I did, after I got over the language barrier, a new one arrived in 2 days (today). I have yet to inspect the new one but I will report back for an update.
One problem I am having already (directions from the first one) is how to ground the unit. It states in the directions the unit is labeled where to ground it at. But I have yet to find it. So unless I can find where on the unit you are suppose to ground it from, I guess I'm screwed.

Customer Review: DO NOT BUY!!
Summary: 1 Stars

You truly get what you pay for.

Purchased in in September to power a single halogen spot lamp to light a pond for nightime skating once the water froze (We live in MAssachusetts). Started it up and after a few pulls the engine turned over and we had power. Drained the gas tank and went to use it for its intended use this past weekend. Filled up the tank, started the engine, which ran fine, but could not get any power out of it. We are well past Amazon's 30 day warranty and just a few days over the manufacturer's 90. Will try to contact them and see what's next. My guess is I am out $140.

Blue Max 1,250-Watt 2 HP 2-Cycle Gas-Powered Generator (Non-CARB Compliant) #3241

Received Item in Excellent Condition, no damage. Read the instructions, Added about 1/2 gallon of fuel mixture, enabled the choke and it cranked and ran on the third pull of the starter rope. Unit Ran perfectly and after I let it warm up as suggested in the manual, it performed Great keeping a steady voltage output throughout the loading of the generator. Very good value for the price.

Customer Review: Don't expect too much from this
Summary: 2 Stars

I bought this expecting 1250 watts of output - Let's be very clear - it's and 800 Watt generator at best. It's nice and quiet, smokes a little at first and takes a good strong arm and foot to get it started, but once running it's ok. The 12V DC power cable is nice, but the wire is too small for the 8 amps and they get hot to the touch after just a few minutes. Buy it as an 800w generator, not a 1250w. My friend bought one at the same time 7/24/2009 and as of this review 07/28/2009 - his is dead (40 hours of use) - broken piston ring. Buyer beware.

It works good but the only thing is that I thought I was getting a 1250 watts. The advertisement said nothing about it being only 800 watt continous 1250 surge! I was expecting it to at least be 1000 watt continous since the info on the Amazon site said nothing about the 800 watts. If I would have known this I would have bought a different model. I knew nothing about the continous 800 watts until I read the manuel that came with the generator. I think the info should be revised to reflect the 800 watts. The top of the fuel cap was dented also.
