As a mother of a 5-year-old with Autism, going to an amusement park or crowded mall is out of the question for my family. Injury and abduction are always on my mind and I have to be on constant guard to make sure that my son doesn't wander away. After buying The BrickHouse Child Locator, I have been able to take my son to more and more public places with less and less worry. Instead of panicking if he gets out of sight, I simply reach in my purse and grab The Locator. Before purchasing this device, going to a public place like an amusement park would have been impossible. But now that I have The BrickHouse Locator, I have the confidence to take my family to Disneyland for the first time ever. The peace of mind and normalcy that The Locator gives me is priceless. This product works in an open room or field if there is a clear line of sight to the subject! Other then that it is an absolute bust. We were given this as a gift to use with our son and when we went to try and return it to Brickhouse, since it did not work as advertised, we were told that there was only a 5 day window to test the product once the original shipment was received by the purchaser and after that we could only get a credit. It is the only product that I have ever used that gives only a 5 day test window (makes it difficult to give as a gift). This tells me that they know that the product does not work and does not meet the needs and requirements of their customers. In summary we are extremely disappointed with the product as well as the manufactures support/service and do not recommend it.Customer Review: Doesn't work!!!

We bought this for our daughter who loves to play outside. My husband bought it before I had a chance to read the reviews on Amazon. I started to get worried when I read the reviews! When we got it I had trouble putting the battery compartment cover back on. It was so cheap I thought it was going to break. The bottom of the unit even started to detach from itself. Once I got the unit assembled with batteries, I went outside and put the locator in the armband (also a big waste of money). I went out to the street and it couldn't locate the tag which was only 50 feet away. I am returning this today. Also on the website, they MODERATE the comments so that's why all you see is positives.

When I bought this, they told me that its not meant to just tag your children and let them run aimlessly, but rather use the alert mode for if I happen to lose sight of them... which is what I did.. and sure enough my 5 yo was right by my side in the store, I turned to ask the stock guy a question, next thing you know my pocket was vibrating. I took out the locator and found him in seconds, hiding in the clothes rack. If I didnt have it, I know i would have been going crazy looking for him and making a store announcement in a panic. They forgot to process my order until my email in a month later. Product quality is NOT nice, very cheap plastic like a $2.99 toy. Not easy to use with a lot of fault warning. I bought it from overseas and they say only $40 for delivery but they charged me over $90 and didn't refund, that's OK if they could ship fast but they took over a month to ship :-( Bad, bad, bad!!!
