Hello, We've purchased the Brita Ultra Faucet Filter With Pitcher model 42202 with the FF-100 filter in April 2001. It has been an essential part of our lives (baby, etc) since there is quite a noticable difference in the quality of our tap water with and without the filter. We've even proudly endorsed your products to other members of our family and friends (they make excellent gifts!)
Our question is this. Upon first installation in March 2001, it was noticed that a few droplets of water were escaping from the filter in the area between the collar which attaches to the kitchen nozzle and the actual body of the filter. At first it was not an issue. However, now after 5 filter replacements the leakage has become much worse to the point of becoming annoying. Yes, it has been removed and reinstalled, however the problem lies between the spinning ring and the filter body itself, which appears unserviceable. Another issue is that the indicator LED has seized to operate. Even following the instructions (wait 30 seconds before installing the new filter so the chip could reset) did not work. It does not light (red/green) with any filter, used or new.
Well, the only solution we see is to purchase another FF-100 filter system, but is the life expectancy of these filters around one year? If so, will we need to continue this process every year? Or do you recommend another solution?
Thank you,
Rick A.
