Customer Review: Working great after 2 1/2 years!

We have had Brita Faucet Filter for 2 1/2 years with no problems and would not live without it.Our water in Dallas is horrible, especially in the summer. It tastes too bad to drink and we would only drink bottled water. We decided to purchase a Brita Pitcher which we liked, but it was a pain to constantly fill the pitcher. We decided to try a Faucet filter.
My husband was sure that the Brita Faucet Filter would not perform as well as the pitcher, so I setup a blind taste test for him with a glass of water from each the Brita Faucet Filter and the Brita Pitcher. He chose the Brita Faucet Filter as having the best taste (or lack of BAD taste) and I have to agree. So the pitcher has been stored away and now we wouldn't live without the Faucet Filter.
If there are any cons to the Brita Faucet Filter they would be:
1) The type of connector we needed to attach it to our faucet was not in the box. They do have a way for you to call in and get another kit of connectors which we received about 2 weeks after we called in. One of those did fit.
2) The indicator flashes red once about 20 gallons (?) before you need to change it, and twice when it must be changed. But we have noticed that at soon as it goes to flashing red once the quality of the filter dimishes quickly and you really can't get that last 20 gallons filtered.
Customer Review: CHEAP PLASTIC PARTS THAT FALL APART!

let me first say that this review has nothing to do with the actual filtration system. it's the cheap plastic faucet filter that everyone should stay away from. i've had mine for less than 9 months and this thing completely fell apart on me last week. water started flying out of the area between the piece that attaches to the faucet and the base. after some inspection by my husband, it was determined that it was broken. we had to remove it because water was spraying everywhere everytime we turned on the faucet. i was beginning to dislike this brita filter even before its final trip to the garbage can. 1 - the faucet attachment is again made of cheap plastic, it needed to be tinkered with on a regular basis to avoid having water sprayed all over you when you turn on the faucet. 2 - the indicator light (green = filter good, red = change it) on my filter stopped working, even after i tried every suggestions listed in the trouble shooting manual. however, the quality of the water filtered by the brita filter was good. i just got so mad at this faucet model that i went back to the good ol' pitcher filters.
stick with the pitchers unless you must have a faucet model. i'm looking into the PUR system now. i've heard good things about it.

I'm convenience-oriented. Having upgraded from the Brita pitcher, to the multi-gallon unit, and then getting the Faucet Filter I was excited for an improved Brita medium. Finally! No more soaking the filters, washing the container, refilling the container. Xanadu had arrived. The Faucet Filter worked superbly for 3 weeks, and then without warning its flow rate dropped to 1/10th the speed of a meandering trickle in January going uphill with a wind in its face. And yet the little green blinker indicated everything was a-ok. What I call the "Automated Water Filter Useless Light", or AWFUL, showed thumbs-up. So I timed it, because I am a [curious person] who does things like quantify product dissatisfaction. From the 2-gallon Brita UltraMax dispenser it took 32 seconds of joy to fill a 1 quart container to the brim. Yet, the same size jug from the faucet Brita took 2 minutes, 3 seconds. When you watch a tablespoon or cup of water drip to completeness it is as if your life is wasting before your eyes.Using this product is not unlike being stuck in gridlock, only less pleasurable.
Customer Review: A good temporary solution to filtering your drinking water

Our heavily chlorinated water doesn't taste good for drinking or making coffee and tea. So we filter our water. We started with the Brita filter pitcher. But this is inconvenient--you constantly need to fill up the pitcher and it takes up space in the fridge. We plan to put in a real system one of these days (under the sink) but at the prices plumbers charge, this project is on hold for a while.
We bought one to use while in temporary quarters, then moved it into our new house.
The plus side:
1. Water tastes good. Makes coffee taste better.
2. The cost is reasonable.
3. Installation is ... easy.
4. Filtered water is on demand.
5. It can be moved from house to summer vacation cabin.
The minus side:
1. They leak after a while
2. If you forget to push it out of the way and turn on the hot water, you ruin the filter. (oops.)
3. It sits on your sink faucet looking a bit ungainly--if you have a particularly stylish kitchen.
Not a bad interim solution to filtration, but ultimately I wanted a more permanent system.

I used to use the Brita pitcher for years. I loved the quality of the water, but I didn't like that it took up counter space (or fridge space), and I didn't like waiting for the water to filter - (a big pain if you want to make a pitcher of lemonade and there's only a pint of water left in the pitcher). The faucet filter solves both of those problems. I can get as much filtered water as I need without waiting for it to filter. And I have one less thing on the counter. Perfect!
I'm happy with the quality of the water, which I rate using the "tea test". I filter water, boil it in a clean vessel (free of mineral deposits), then make a cup of Orange Pekoe tea. If the brewed tea is clear, then I'm happy. If it's cloudy, then I'm not happy. I first tried a Pur faucet filter and got cloudy tea. With the Brita faucet filter, the tea is clear every time.
I have had none of the problems that a previous reviewer mentioned -- no leaking or problems with the lights. I am curious to know, however, how they can tell that their filter isn't working.
