Tools and Hardware Reviews of Brita 42364 SpaceSaver Pitcher

Customer Review: Great replacement!
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased this model because it was smaller, and easier to lift when full, as opposed to the larger space saver model I had. It fits in the frige, in a tight space, and is easier to lift because of it's capacity.

Customer Review: Great tasting water, very poor pitcher design
Summary: 3 Stars

I love the taste of the water filtered through this pitcher. We've stopped buying bottled water since we got it. But the pitcher design is HORRIBLE. The part of the lid that fits into the pitcher is is maybe a couple of millimeters tall so it barely stays on. When you the reservoir is filled to near the top and you tilt the pitcher even slightly backwards, water leaks into the two-part handle and down the bottom. The flap that covers the spout does not always open easily and it's very easy to dump the top and spill water all over the place. 5 stars for taste, only 1 star for the horrible design. It's hard to believe that Brita didn't do any product testing before putting this on the market.

Customer Review: One bad leaky filter
Summary: 1 Stars

At first sight it looks like a great filter but then the problems start. first they left a hole on the top of the filling container so when you fill it to the top what I would expect people to do water start colleting in the handle and then leaking out. Second the top is not secure enough it fall of when pooring.

Customer Review: Great water, flawed pitcher
Summary: 2 Stars

I have to agree with most of the other reviews. The water is clear & tastes right but the pitcher is a disaster. Once we had a bad filter that left the charcoal residue, but if we soak the filter in cold water for 10 mins then run cold water through it for a few seconds before installing it, the water is excellent. However...the pitcher could not be more flawed. The lid, despite all attempts refuses to stay seated on the pitcher. When pouring, the lid usually falls off or pops loose causing massive leakage & annoyance. The most ridiculous design feature though is at the top of the handle, inside the water reservoir...there's a hole where the handle attaches to the pitcher. SO, if the pitcher is A) over-filled or B) Not over-filled, but slightly jostled (such as the movement induced by returning the recently filled pitcher to the refrigerator) the water will go through the hole, down the handle and leak everywhere. There's a funky plastic piece inside the handle which keeps it from leaking all at once. That way you don't necessarily notice the handle is full of water immediately and your refrigerator is full of spilled water the next time you open it. My husband is not very conscious of this fact so I keep an empty cereal bowl in the refrigerator on the shelf below the water pitcher to catch all of the water that leaks down the handle.

Customer Review: Not in stock, do not order
Summary: 1 Stars

Deerso substituted another pitcher for this one since the one I ordered is not in stock any longer. Wish they had called or emailed before shipping an unapproved substitute, but their customer service was very nice and responsive. They are emailing a return form, prepaid return label, and will credit S&H charges as well.
