I'm used to how the Puriclean filters firmly twist on inside the fridge. This Brita filter twists on, but it was so loose I was afraid it was going to fall off if food items bump into it and cause it to twist in the opposite direction. I ran water through it for a while and checked for leakage. There were no leaks from the filter or the socket, so I guess it's ok. Water tastes the same, but I would have more confidence in this product if it would fit more securely.Customer Review: Works great. No problems. However,

Easy to install just like the original filter, works fine, no problems and half the price. However, unable to compare the types of things the Brita filters out of the water as compared to the manufactures' original filter. Brita states on box by law it is not allowed to make the same claims as manufacture. So does it just filter out chlorine and fluoride or does it also filter lead and small particles like the Original maufactures' filter does? Who knows?

Certainly the water tastes good after the filter starts doing its thing. The flush of the filter is a lot more then it seems it should be, like 7 - 9 gallons until charcoal stopped coming through. Also, in the weeks I have had the filter installed I have yet to get the get the water to flow at "full speed". It can take 45 seconds or more to fill a 12 ounce glass. This feels like forever when you stand there facing the fridge or cabinets.Customer Review: Mediocre replacement for Maytag UKF7003xx filters

I purchased three of these filters to replace the filter in our Maytag refrigerator. The first filter had a very very slow rate of flow, and clogged completely within 3 weeks. The second filter has had a slow rate of flow, and I've replaced it after 3 months.
That being said, the taste of water is comparable to the UKF7003 filters, and they are cheaper. But the Maytag filters last longer.

This filter is significantly cheaper than the Maytag brand and works just as well. It actually went on easier it seemed as well. Water tastes just the same as it did with the Maytag filter. I can't say for certain how long it will last, however, given that my town now receives VERY hard water I don't think the Maytag product would have been able to last appreciably longer. This is made in USA.
