Customer Review: Slower than GE

I've only purchased the GE replacement in the past, so I took a flier on the Brita. I've enjoyed my Brita pitcher until my wife tossed it out to gain more space in the fridge. :) The Brita was three dollars cheaper, so I figured that the reviews from some previous postings could be inaccurate.
Pros:
Cost - Cheaper by $3.
Installation - No problems on the installation, though it seemed to be a little more challenging to get all the air bubbles out than the GE.
Taste - No noticeable "taste" as other postings have noted.
Cons:
Slower - With the Brita, I'll be waiting longer to fill my cup of water. I fill 32 oz. cups so I have experience standing at the fridge door to get my water. This filter allows less water to pass than the GE. I would estimate a 5-10% drop in speed.
In my mind the speed is what I'll have to deal with for the next 6+ months that this item is in my fridge. Since I'm drinking the recommended 64 oz per day, that will add up to a lot more time standing at the fridge.... the trade-off for cost is not worth it in my opinion. I'll get the GE next time.

This refrigerator filter can be used to fit refrigerators using part numbers: Smart Water: MWF, GWF01, GWF06, HXRT, and Hotpoint HWF. Brita refrigerator filters also fit refrigerators using the following filters when used with a reusable adaptor: MXRC, FXRT, FXRC, WR97X10006 and 46-9905.
