Customer Review: Works, but noisy and high powered fan

This product doesn't really do what we'd wanted it to ... but that isn't really the fan's fault.
It was easy to install and looks good.
The negatives:
1) is quite noisy.
2) There is one speed, and it is very fast.
For us, it doesn't get the air/heat circulating as we'd wanted. We have it near the ceiling, and it seems to just suck air from the top of the room ... like a separate layer of fast moving air. Obviously air is moving around, but it doesn't distribute the heat around as well as a slow moving ceiling fan.
