Tools and Hardware Reviews of C. Crane BNB Bright Night LED Nightlight Bulb

Customer Review: Great little bulb... buy one to SAVE energy
Summary: 5 Stars

We received a little figurine night light thing as a baby shower gift. The bulb is inside and the whole thing glows when it is on. I didn't want to burn an incandescent bulb so I ordered this LED bulb.

This bulb works great. We've used it for about a week now. It is about the same brightness as the old bulb that came with the nightlight (I didn't check the wattage... so I'm not sure)

Keep in mind that this light is much whiter than an old bulb. Not a big deal, but something to be aware of before you order it.

If you have a nightlight you want to keep, put an LED bulb in it (like this one!)
Or buy a new LED nightlight with motion sensor or at least a light sensor to turn off during the day... we are using those for the bathroom and hallway...

Customer Review: Brighter than a normal incandescent 7w bulb !
Summary: 5 Stars

I'm not usually a huge fan of CC Crane LED products but this lil' bulb impresses me so much. It's brighter than the conventional incandescent 7w bulb that it replaces. It's output is in the 5000K range (i.e. daylight spectrum) which is exactly what I need it to be. The only complaint may be that its light distribution can be more even. Right now the dome is fully & evenly lit which is nice but the 4 side-pointing diodes give off very intensed yet concentrated light sources. If they somehow can point inward & contribute to the general dome output, it will make this almost like an incandescent bulb. But still, very nice. It consumes 0.58w (instead of the usual 7w) so I'm not afraid to leave it on 24/7 (although in reality I don't).

Customer Review: Impressed for an LED night light bulb
Summary: 5 Stars

Overall I am impressed with this replacement LED night light bulb. It is about as bright as a standard night light bulb, but runs cold.

I bought 2 of these to replace some existing night lights, and was so happy with them I bought 2 more. The overall bulb design is not too fancy and I don't think I would use it as a straight out bulb (no cover). But putting them in standard nightlights with shades works great. I have some other LED night light bulbs (some are 2 LED, some are 3) but they throw out a very faint amount of light. Almost useless unless you are right on top of it.

I would recommend these LED night light bulbs over the others. Only complaint is they are a bit costly (7-8 dollars).

Customer Review: Hey It's Only .8 Watts
Summary: 5 Stars

I wont dispute some of the faults I've read yes it's not as bright as a 7 or even a 4 watt incandescent and it might melt if it's placed in a hot environment, a known issue with LED's. I tried one in a multifunction bathroom fixture, light, heater, exhaust and night light. When the heater was on the LED would start to glow at a low light output so it was nixed there, I didn't wait for it to melt. But using it in table lamp that has a place for three bulbs I went with these LED's with a timer. They're on for at least eight hours every night and they work great in this setting and it's only 2.4 watts, look Mom I'm green! LED's tend to directional and these are no exception with that in mind I would recommend them.

Customer Review: Good if switched, may not work if on light sensor
Summary: 3 Stars

I bought this bulb for a Garrity night light and emergency flashlight (Lantern Model No. 90020) to replace the C7 bulb. The C7 bulb socket is gated by a photocell so the nightlight only operates when it's dark. When I used the Crane LED bulb, the small amount of electricity that runs through the circuit when the photocell registers light is enough to make the LED flicker. The flicker was annoying visually and made me concerned for the life of the bulb in this installation, so I removed it and figure I'll use it on the Xmas tree in place of a normal C7.
The Garrity is the only photocell controlled nightlight I own, so I can't say if this problem extends to all photocell controlled nightlights.
