Customer Review: The problem with buying LEDs online...

A little under a year ago, I purchased 4 CC.Vivid Plus 36-LED light blubs. Unlike all the other bulbs I've tried, these bulbs have a plastic housing that solves the inherit LED directional problem. Normally, LEDs shine more upward than anything else, unlike CFLs and Incandescent bulbs that shine all the way around. These are equivalent to ~25W Incandescent bulbs, which means they're better in numbers on multiple-socket applications, rather than single light fixtures. Each room in the house has 4 light sockets. The total wattage usage is far superior to standard light bulbs (240W Incandescent@60Wperbulb//100W Incandescent@25Wperbulb//52W CFL@13Wperbulb//12W LED@3Wperbulb). The point is - They're not that and they've really grown on me.
Which brings me to now. I like those LED bulbs, love the light output in a point-down ceiling fan application, and anything to give less money to my awful electric company makes me a happy guy. So, I decided that I wanted to get a few more, continue converting more bulbs in the house from CFL to LED. I purchased 4 more - CC.Vivid 36-LED light bulbs. The picture looks like an exact clone of what I already have. $10/bulb, same price I paid before, description shows no difference... So, I ordered.
Today, the package comes in and I instantly knew there was a problem. All 4 bulbs fit in a tiny little box. They look virtually the same, same domed plastic cover, etc... But, they're HALF the size of my old ones. They're not nearly as bright, they're far more blue/white tinted (versus my others with standard incandescent yellowish light), but there's an upside - there's absolutely no delay when turning them on (the older ones have about a 1-second delay).
I don't *hate* these new bulbs, but I don't like them as much as the originals I purchased, and I really wish that the description would have said that they were white/blue-tinted, so I could find matching lights instead of just assuming based on a picture/description from an online store. I really hope C. Crane didn't discontinue the old bulbs, because they really were the first LED bulbs that seemed like a real competitor against the current CFLs. These new bulbs, though... Not so much.
