Tools and Hardware Reviews of CC.Vivid Plus 36-LED Light BulbCustomer Review: Great for the garage door opener Summary: 5 Stars
I used this to power a garage door opener that was chewing up standard bulbs once a week, I've had it in there a couple of months and so far it's doing great. The brightness is not as bad as I was expecting, it is plenty of light to get into the house from and I have other overhead lights in the garage if I need bright lights. I would recommend it, I'm thinking of getting more for hard to replace bulbs in hallways too, since the LED should last a very long time (longer I hope than the China made compact florescent, 5 years right, luck to get 24 months out of them)
UPDATE ***
Couple months later and this light is still going strong, never had another bulb last this long, can't wait till LED's are bright enough and low cost enough to replace all the lights in my house.
Customer Review: Good for the price relative to other LED bulbs Summary: 4 Stars
I ordered 6 of these after reading the other reviews. I was under no illusions that they would be bright, and so was not disappointed that they seem to be about 40 watt equivalents. I installed three in a downstairs bathroom and at first thought that the person who talked about a dim night light was right - then I realized that the bulbs were flowing faintly even thought the light switch was off. If they seem very dim, try turning on the light. Apparently with some (not all) sockets, they require so little power that they glow faintly even when the unit is not actively powered (so my bathroom now has very dim night lights even when the power isn't on). Don't expect bright lights, but especially for multiple bulb units, these make a good compromise until the price of LED bulbs comes down.
Customer Review: Very low output, similar to 20w incandescent, but works with X10 - FAILED AFTER 3months Summary: 1 Stars
I use several 40w incandescent bulbs around the house in multi-bulb fixtures - some pointing at art on the walls. This LED unit has about half, or less, light output compared to any of the 40w incandescents. And, as has already been mentioned the color is a harsh blue-white. It does dim with an X10 LM465 Lamp Module, but it stays on very, very dimly when the module is off (probably due to the LM465's sense current). In summary, this unit is only worth being used as a night light, or possibly in a gooseneck fixture 6 inches from your head pointing directly at whatever you may want to read. Also, it does get a bit warm when on - nowhere near as hot as a regular incandescent bulb, but it does not run totally cool.
UPDATE: This unit failed after 3 months of use.
Customer Review: Terrible quality control, Avoid the product Summary: 1 Stars
While this bulb was a perfect fit for my intended application, it seems that CCrane has a serious problem with their outsourced manufacturer's quality control.
The first one I bought worked flawlessly for about 3 months, but afterward would lose illumination from a segment of the LED's soon after powering up. The lamp would flicker as it rose to operating temperature and then would continue to operate at the lower lumen (light output) level.
I figured, maybe I got a bad one, so I ordered a second. The second one worked for about six months before exhibiting the exact same issues as the first.
Rip me off once, meh, rip me off twice and it's adios (and a one-star review on Amazon!)
Customer Review: low light output Summary: 1 Stars
Some of the other reviewers say this bulb puts out about as much light as a 20 watt incandescent equivalent. I don't think it even reaches that. I bought this bulb some time ago and used it in a small office lamp. while it might be adequate for night time reading, I think that's about as good as it gets. It certainly isn't enough to replace a standard household light (eg: 60 watt bulbs). I stopped using it as it simply wasn't bright enough, but for the short time I used it, it worked. Though now I'm a little concerned about it's build considering the complaints about the bulb failing after so short a time. I will have to plug it back in and see if I can replicate the other user's claims.
