I had searched locally for replacement for my failed unit in town at Home Depot and Lowes, and all they carried were GENIE products. I was mistakingly told I could use the GENIE UNIVERSAL product at Home Depot, but this is incorrect...glad I found this, as it was a direct replacement of the unit I had, set up took all of 10 minutes, and works great now (in fact, it is probably better than the one I replaced, since that one had a very cheap 'connector' for the wire to attach to the units, that would occasionally vibrate loose. Came with easy-to-setup instructions. Each of the sensor's light lit as soon as these little guys were wired correctly and aligned. These are a must with the Billion series (mine is a 1995) Craftsman garage door opener, if your sensors are shot. Also, price was great from Amazon; Lowes charges $50 sensors for newer garage door opener sensors and the price for these were about half.
Working sensors are required for the garage door to work, but unfortunately, there is other stuff going on with my garage opener and the opener still is not functioning properly.

Excellent! So easy to install and works as it should in no time! I was so surprised to find this item on Amazon. I first went to Lowe's, then Home Depot, then Fry's, then Sears!!! No one could help me since this is 1993 model and they all prefer that you get a whole new door instead of fixing it....Sears had it but for $50 !!! Then I thought, well, maybe I should check by the item # I got from Sears and see if Amazon has it. What a deal in less than $24....Thank you Amazon!
Just make sure you keep the old screws since you'd need them for the new sensors.

I can't believe I waited so long to order this product. For 3 or 4 years I would play with the wires on my old sensor and it would work for a couple days then open half way or up and down. I ordered this new sensor and it arrived in 2 days( I was impressed) it took 10 min to install and works all the time. Its the best $20 some dollers I have spent as my garage door company wanted almost $60 buck for the same item and I am so happy now that every time I push the button the door closes or opens with absoluty no problems.Customer Review: Super Easy !!!

This product came packaged in a small box with a little instruction sheet that is well written. It was a simple job and quick too. You only need a screwdriver and wire trimmers. I laughed how long I waited to fix this knowing now how easy it was. This is the one you want to get for Craftsman door openers. They don't sell this one in stores. The only sell the genie type replacements that won't work for craftsman. Also check the date yours was made. This is the two green eye kind, not the green/red eye kind.
