Forget those cheap door guards, latches and chains. I highly recommend the Door Guardian for your home security needs. The installation was very simple; however, I had to use shorter screws on the wood door frame. The 3" screws were way too long for my situation - I believe the 1.5 or 2" screws from Home Depot work just as good. I had placed mine approx. 6" above the dead bolt lock. I also have one of those door guards that hold up against the door knob and the floor.Customer Review: A great, strong latch!

This is a wonderful latch for any type of door, whether it be a main door leading outside, a regular room door, a basement door, etc. It is extremely strong and there is no way that you can open the door if this latch is placed on it. It also has a specific way of being locked (it snaps) so it's really good if you want to keep a door closed to avoid getting cold wind or a draft in.

This lock is versetile and STRONG! I haven't been able to find anything like it. I wanted something better than a traditional deadbolt, and other door "locks" had the visual appear of propping a chair under the doorknob. The brass looks good, it's easy to install and operate, and it can be put anywhere along the side and part of the top of the door to prevent entry. A great product.Customer Review: Awesome Invention!

I would highly recommend it for anyone who is seeking a sturdy, reliable lock, that's easy to install, and won't break the bank with costs. I have a "spirited" two year old who played a Houdini on us while he was supposed to be in bed. After we found him I went right out to the store an purchased 3 of these for the doors around our hose. It does what it is supposed to do. I would tell anyone with children to install these thru - out their house.
