We just moved, and our new home is an older house that's built pretty solid. The doorbell is on the main floor, and if we were in the basement or upstairs, we couldn't hear the doorbell unless the house was completely silent.
So I bought one of the doorbell extenders, with one receiver upstairs in my office, and this second receiver (purchased separately) in the basement by the TV. It works great. It took two minutes to install, and the receivers respond immediately upon doorbell press.
The first receiver is about 20ft away, through a floor and a wall.
The second receiver is about 35ft away, through a floor and two walls.
I haven't had any interference problems with other wireless devices in the house.

It works in detached garage 70' away.
It was simple to install.
Since it plugs into 110v outlet -- and some locations in my house required cube-tap, it looks a bit weird the way it sticks out!
I'm thinking of getting another slave doorbell[the Add ChimReceiver plus a sender module] -- to rig the sender unit to a push button in car to signal people in house to open gate!

Note that this only works with Carlon wireless door chimes. It is great to have a ringer wherever you want, however, due to the denseness of log home walls, it may not work in the outlet you would like to use - and forget about the 150' range through logs. It is a great product - easily damaged by lightning and power surges because it uses your house's wiring.Customer Review: Works like a charm

I had been looking for the plug-in extension for sometime but all I could find was the battery type at local hardware stores. This item works perfectly and is loud enough to be heard upstairs when placed at the proper location. Works perfectly with Batt Extend-A-Bell. I can even move it to another building's wall plug over 50 ft from the Batt transmitter and it works every time. One tone for my back door and another tone for the front door. Highly recommend for door bell extender needs.
