In a nut shell, if you have the need to measure stuff under 1/16" regularly and you're not to particular about you're tools it's a good little rule. I needed a cheapo for one of my classes I'm taking in school. The clip-on-rule is too tight to slide well and causes burs and rough spots on the edge of the rule which would more then likely skew a scribe mark. It's finish is almost polished which makes it a bit hard to see depending on you're angel to the light. I just took an emery board and roughed it up to take some of the shine off. I do like that it has decimal equivalent on the back, for the scatter brained like my self that's a good time saver.
I bit of file work on the edges and some fine sand paper on the face will make it more user friendly.
