I am very happy with this product. It arrived and was installed within minutes. The outside unit is mounted at the very top of the garage door so the unit alarms as soon as the garage door opens. The inside unit is about 20 feet from the outside location in my bedroom and when the garage door is open flashes a bright red light to let you know. The indoor unit does require electricity so you will need to find a place to put it to allow for that. If your wife and kids frequently leave the garage door open you need this product to help protect from theft!Customer Review: Works as advertised!

My garage is a separate building about 15' away from my house, so I needed something to tell me if I left the door open. I'm using this about 100' away from the transmitter - a bit too much for it. It worked fine at first, but then would lose signal on occasion. I noticed that the receiver had an antenna but the transmitter didn't. I opened up the transmitter and found the antenna "loop" - I simply soldered on a piece of wire of the appropriate length (this uses 390mhz, so I used a 1/2 wave length of wire, which is 14.4 inches). I read all the reviews, and fretted for days as to whether this device would keep an eye on my garage door, and I happy to say, after over a month, that it's working perfectly! Initially, in the first week or two, the receiver would drop the signal (red/green blinking), but it seems to have settled down, and for the last two weeks has worked fine. I was concerned about its range, too, because we live in a brick house and I wanted to mount the receiver in our upstairs bedroom, but it seems to work perfectly. This device is very easy to set up and use.
Before I got this I might worry that our garage door had been inadvertently left open. I might hear a door open or close and could not be sure whether it was mine or my neighbor's garage door (our houses are attached). Or perhaps someone would come in to the garage and I wouldn't remember if they closed the door behind them.
This device makes it easy to know whether the door is opened or closed so I don't have to physically go to the garage to find out.

I've had this installed for 6 weeks & it works flawlessly. I didn't want an alarm that beeps because sometimes I want the garage door open and don't want to be bothered by a beeping alarm. I mounted it on a wall where it can be easily seen. Now I can tell at a glance if I forgot to close the door. I did have to use an extension cord because the supplied cord is not long enough. My garage is attached so the unit only has to transmit a distance of about 25 feet. I don't know how well it would work over greater distances.
