This item was advertised to open a garage door and the gate to a gated comunity.
It workded on the garage door and not the gate. After writing to the company (Chamberlain-the same brand as the gate opener)I was told that this would not work on the gate.
At a cost of $13.00 I was not going to spend $5.00 to send it back.
I can say, I would not buy another product from this company.

Bought this as an extra for our Overhead Door garage door. Did not work with the Overhead Door that we have. Had to go to the Overhead Door store and pay 4X as much. Mine must be the .1% of door type that this does not work with. They should publish the list of doors that it does work with - could not find a list like that anywhere before I purchsed the opener. Even though we didn't see our exact type of garage door opener in the instructions, we followed the steps anyway and it was set up within a few minutes. I need to be closer to the garage door (i.e on the driveway) when coming home before clicking as it doesn't have quite the same range as the one that came with the opener, but that's not a big deal, so overall, good product, works like a charm.Customer Review: Okay, but shorter range

I have some older Chamberlain remotes that have better range than this one. I like to be able to activate my door while coming down the street and have it mostly open when I pull up the driveway. This remote works okay, but seems to have less range than my older remotes. Probably not a problem for most people, just an observation. The home I bought was eqipped with a Chamberlain garage door opener but no remote opener was supplied with it. The Chamberlain KLIK1U Clicker Transmitter Universal Garage Door Remote Control worked like a charm; it took me longer to first read the instructions than the actual installation took.
