Tools and Hardware Reviews of Chamberlain KLIK1U Clicker Transmitter Universal Garage Door Remote Control

Customer Review: One size does NOT fit all!- Even when your system IS what they say!
Summary: 1 Stars

Two remotes... two times failure. The first time, we thought the device was defective... now we know it is. After receiving a replacement, same problem. The programming was done correctly, we called the company, we went on the website and viewed the trouble-shooting video. The lights flashed, the signals went through... but the door would not open. The door is a post 1993 model which uses the light sensors, necessary for the remote to operate. On the upside, Amazon was very helpful in the return process. But now... I just don't know what to do. BEWARE of this model!

Customer Review: Works exactly as stated on two different openers
Summary: 5 Stars

I read the reviews and was nervous it would not open my garages. I have a single Genie Intellicode boat gargare door and a double Chamberlain Liftmaster garage door. I followed the instructions and was able to program a single remote to two different manufactured garage openers. Follow the instructions exactly as stated. Make sure you wait for the lights as instructed. Worked flawlessly for me. A little pricey but at least I don't have to have multiple openers and always have to guess which opens which garage. If you have similar circumstances buy it!

Customer Review: Works with all openers, but not really.

As other reviewers have noted, although this is advertised to work with "ALL" models, it doesn't. I have one of the ones that this clicker is not compatible with. I'm not happy about the advertising. Before purchasing this product I'd suggest going to the manufacturer's website, downloading the product's instructions, and reading them to see if it'll work with your opener or not.

As for the clicker itself, the construction seems to be solid. I imagine that if this actually works with your opener you'd get a lot of service out of the clicker.

Customer Review: Works like a charm!

I already knew how the product worked as I purchased one from a local hardware store for $20 more than the price I got it on Amazon.com. The clerk at the hardware store was pretty sure that it would work (this is after I went to a Sears store only to be told that I probably had to buy a whole new garage door opening system). I bought this universal garage door remote and within 5 minutes of opening the product, the remote was programmed to my garage door system. I needed a second one as both my original remotes were falling apart from being dropped.

Customer Review: Universal Transmitter
Summary: 5 Stars

I received this device as a surprise as it was substituted for my original order which was no longer available. I was able to program this to a LiftMaster rolling code and a Craftsman unit that has resisted all attempts to match it up to a generic keypad in about 15 minutes. Both units synced on the first try. Most of the 15 minutes was spent getting a ladder and moving 1 car out of the way to access the LiftMaster. The range is good and it's small enough to fit in a small nook in the dash on my 2010 F150 FX4. Good product. Good price.
