Second, a connected Liftmaster garage door opener is warranted against damage by surges for 5 years (repair or replace, their option). Third, the unit does not include the wire that is required to connect it. Finally, this unit meets UL's new standard for transient voltage surge suppressors with a thermal fuse that protects against fire and electrocution hazards that can arise from surges.
The instructions are clear, and installation is simple.
Assuming the product performs as intended, it will protect a connected Liftmaster opener from damage by surges. If it does not perform as intended, Chamberlain will repair or replace the damaged equipment up to 5 years after purchase. Note that the warranty and general description specifically refer to "Liftmaster garage door opener," so Chamberlain may not repair or replace damaged non-Liftmaster openers.
