I had to replace the original remote because I had inadvertently left it in a rental car when I returned the car. This remote is just like the one I lost; all that had to be done when I got it was to program it. The instructions were in the box, and programming it was very easy. This opener has great range. Even when stored down low in the map pocket of the driver's side door, it still opens and closes my door from well into the street.
