I find it amazing that the garage door industry (at least Liftmaster) has taken something so complicated as pairing the door opener with the car/door transmitter...ensuring both operate along the same frequency...down to the color of the 'learn' button on the door opener. If only everyone did it that simply.
Anyway it works as advertised. I didn't realize its ability to program in temporary codes in addition to the permanent one. The unit can be programmed with a temporary code that will open the door either a certain number of times or within a certain timeframe (aka hours). Makes sense for visitors, house-sitters, and potentially contractors.
After you punch in your code (the keypad lights up when you push a button, great for night) to open you hit the enter button to open. The keypad blinks and while its blinking you can keep using the enter button to stop the door from opening, close it again, etc.
It's very easy to figure it all out (again, from the industry that figuring out unit-to-unit pairing via what color the learn button is). Works with purple learn button on my Liftmaster garage door opener. Easy to mount (two holes, the top is a keyhole the bottom) and comes with two screws.
