We recently moved into a house that had a Chamberlain garage door opener (manufactured in 1992 according to the serial information) with no remotes to be found. We contacted our landlord who finally came up with an older Liftmaster remote just like these. Unfortunately, the old one had gotten wet or something like that and the insides were all corroded and it really just didn't work. I looked around in stores, and the garage door remotes at all the local stores were at least $30, and the Chamberlain ones were $40 and up. I decided to take a chance and order two of these even if I wasn't sure they were compatible, because of course you can return stuff hassle-free to Amazon, and they were so much cheaper than anything I found at the brick-and-mortar stores. I couldn't be more pleased. They were a cinch to program and they have been working reliably 100 percent of the time so far. The only caveat is that if you are programming two, you must program them at the same time to avoid creating two different code frequencies, and then make sure the little pins on the inside of the remote are set to look the same. Once I figured that out, everything is great, and you can't beat the price. Thanks, Amazon!
