Tools and Hardware Reviews of Cobra Products 400 Zip-It Drain Cleaning ToolCustomer Review: This thing saved me from calling a plumber Summary: 5 Stars
I just bought this today from Home Depot for $2.19 willing to try it on my bathroom drain that was clogged pretty bad. We used liquid plumber and other chemicals trying to unplug it with no success. (Liquid chemicals are pretty expensive by the way)
My girlfriend was going to call a plumber but we were going to try a mini snake unclogger that cost 7 bucks but it looked a little cheap. This thing looks pretty cheap itself since its pretty much a big zip tie thats cut up to have little hooks. Anyhow I used it on my bathroom drain and it pulled out a ton of yucky muddy hair balls. We then used it on our other bathroom that wasn't clogged as bad and we got a ton of stuff unclogged as well!! Both sinks drain perfectly now.
Many snake type uncloggers usually push the clog through. this one pulls the clogs out. Be prepared with a papertowel to put all the stuff in. Be prepared to be grossed out!
I am going to use this everytime now before buying chemicals.
Customer Review: Works as advertised, and at a reasonable price also Summary: 5 Stars
Having purchased this tool to unclogged the drain, I tested it out on a few sinks around the home.
Here's my pros and cons about this product.
Pros:
- Very reasonable price tool.
- Gets the job done in clearing simple hair like clogs
- Reasonably easy to use but you have to maneuver to the drain to get it in and just pull it back out.
- Doesn't fall apart like the other ones out online.
- No need to waste money with chemicals down the sink and pollute the environment and waste water.
Cons:
- Could be long so it can reach further down the drain.
- Instead of flat, maybe it can be tube-like instead since it's hard to get into the drain as flat.
- Can not ever replace a plumber for tough clogs
Summary:
Buy it. It's worth every penny. It's not advertised on T.V. infomercials but this one does work. Though I wish that company comes out with more improved version as well.
Customer Review: Easy To Use Summary: 5 Stars
This is my first review ever. I stumbled across this tool when looking up reviews on the "as seen on tv" turbo snake. I seen so many negative reviews about that one and so many positive reviews about this one. This was such an easy tool to use. You just push it down the drain and pull it back up. My bathroom sink was really slow at draining, I stuck this down there and pulled up quite a bit of hair. I figured while I was at it and I wish I would have took video of it was my bathtub drain. I never thought I had any drain flow problems with it until I used this nifty tool. I put it down the drain and I swear I pulled up what looked about as long as a full grown cats tail and as big around as one too. I did it about three more times and got so much hair out. I would definately recommend this product to anyone that is looking to clear out there drain. I would like to also mention that I had previously used a full bottle of drano on the bathroom sink with it not helping at all.
Customer Review: DO THIS FIRST! Summary: 5 Stars
I'm a very unskilled home owner. I pretty much hire a professional for almost everything in my house. Recently, my shower started draining more slowly. I thought about buying Draino or something equivalent so I came on Amazon to find the right product before hiring a plumber. I found this amazing stick and decided to try it because it's so cheap! I received it about 20 minutes ago and decided to try it now... the second I put it in and pulled it out, I cleared the clog! A TON of hair and disgusting gross-ness, but this $4 stick cleared the whole thing in less than 2 minutes. It's easy: stick it in and pull it out. I did it about 5 times (pulling gunk each time). I threw away the gunk, rinsed the stick and ran the shower for 5 minutes to verify that all was clear - and it was! Here I am, 20 minutes later writing a review for this amazing product. I never write reviews, but this is just too amazing to not share.
Customer Review: great little product Summary: 5 Stars
I'm not just some handyman, not that there is anything wrong with being a handyman. I'm a full on contractor and yes, I often let things go in my own home because I can't be satisfied with little fixes. I always want to tear out the whole thing and do it right. I want to remodel our bathroom and one little nagging thing about it is the poorly draining sink. And yes, constantly pouring caustic drain cleaner down pipes is bad for them, but I've been doing it.
So I got one of these (despite the fact that I could probably make something similar - but heck time is money) and it worked like a charm. Pulled out the expected slimy wad of hair, and also part of a chop stick and some broken glass. Second run came up with nothing and the sink drains perfectly. I haven't tried it on the shower yet - which might be trickier - but that doesn't actually have any drain problems.
Totally worth it. Buy it!
