I have tried three steamers now and this one is by far the best for me. It is easy to assemble, but doesn't take up a lot of space ( no pole) if you want to leave it out, or it will also fit in the bottom of a closet fully assembled. This steamer uses a small, separate over the door hanger instead of a pole. The hanger also worked on my towel bar. This steamer didn't leak at all for me and it heats up quickly, too! It holds plenty of water and is easy to fill and empty at my bathroom sink. The commercial steamer I tried was heavy, bulky, and had to be disassembled for storage due to the pole. Filling it was awkward and more complicated. An iron style vertical steamer/iron i bought didn't hold enough water for one garment! My iron style steamer also leaked all over the floor and garment - I couldn't be happier with my new conair steamer- I'm buying one for my adult kids. We all HATE ironing and are excited about this convenient,efficient, AND inexpensive steamer.Customer Review: Not bad for 25 bucks

Conair GS4 Compact Fabric Steamer
Previously owned another Conair steamer that was 3x's the price of this model. Loved it and owned it for over 6 years. When we needed to replace it, did not want to spend another $70. Read reviews on the GS4 and was worried about the reports of it spitting water out. Loved our prior steamer and since it was also a Conair, figured we would give it a try.
First use.....great! No problems at all.
Second use.....water was spitting all over the place. Moved the unit from the top of a dresser to the floor so that the hose was stretched out and attached to the over the door hanger (provided with the steamer) and wella.....perfect.....fixed the problem.
So.......this is a great steamer for the price and the water will not spit out if you keep the hose upright when in use.

For the price, it IS amazing that this steamer does anything, which accounts for all the rave reviews. This little number is not real powerful, so you don't get the effortless, quick steamer results that most of us seek. The steam output is low, so you go over and over the garment, with little improvement. Forget about using it on linen. Even on thin cotton, it creates tiny spider wrinkles. You have to hold the hose vertically to prevent water from spurting, which is awkward and dangerous, as the hose gets HOT. You have to have a door near an electrical outlet. Then the hook doesn't fit over the thickness of the door, nor does the hose reach the item hanging from it. It is as much work as ironing, but with ironing, you can eventually achieve the desired result. The steamer is compact, heats quickly and doesn't take up much room. I returned mine, but there may be a few people who like this steamer.Customer Review: Cheap, but it won't replace your iron.

I read the reviews, and decided to give a chance to this steamer. It is simple to operate - fill the steamer with water, plug it in, wait a couple of minutes. I waited for a while hoping to get the "continuous steam through high-velocity jets...". Nothing like that, though. Just a weak steam that WILL NOT take the wrinkles out of most shirts or trousers. So don't expect this piece of equipment to replace your iron or visit to the dry cleaners.
However, I believe this could work fine with special care (maybe silk) pieces. But don't expect it to save you time, as you have to go slowly over your clothing - just as you will do with an iron.
I give it 2 stars because of its price (saw it on CVS and Kmart for around 30 bucks) and how easy it is to use. And although it won't replace the iron or dry cleaners, it can become handy for some materials that shouldn't be ironed.

I just received my GS4 (amazon regular shipping arrived in just 3 days!) and I am very impressed! I have had smaller, hand-held steamers before that just don't get the wrinkles out, and I didn't want to get a huge, clunky industrial steamer. The GS4 is a very good size and does a nice job. I used it last night on five suits and a few silk nightgowns and everything came out wrinkle free pretty quickly without needing to refill the machine. For me, this is much better than paying for dry-cleaning all of the time when things just need to be freshened up. It comes with a over-the-door hanger that is very helpful when you put the base on a chair (the hose is about 4 ft long and won't reach everything from the ground). I would recommend this steamer to anyone with garments that can't be ironed without being singed or anyone who is just unskilled at ironing--you need no skill for steaming.
