Tools and Hardware Reviews of Cosco 11120RED1 Retro Chair/Step Stool, RedCustomer Review: AWESOME!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I, or should I say my son, loves this chair. He is now almost four, but we had an old white one that belonged to our grandfather that had seen better days. So, I looked at the brand and searched online before I found the new, updated version of the chair/step stool. I was so excited. I ordered it immediately. It didn't take long to put together and my son couldn't be happier with his new red chair. It works great from 18 months on...I will never regret this buy. Thank you Amazon, for a wonderful transaction!!!!
I say - great chair @ an affordable price - can't pass it up if you have kiddos!!!!
Customer Review: Smaller than U think, flimsy Summary: 1 Stars
This step stool is not worth it - the steps that are shown extended in the photo connect only via a plastic groove in the red plastic cross bars shown on the legs of the stepstool. Therefore, when you move the stool, the steps flop along. You have to move them out yourself and put them back in yourself. They come off too easily so you are having to place them inside the groove whenever you move the stool/chair. The stool itself is very small and while this is OK for a stationary perching stool, it is NOT good for a step stool and too small and uncomfortable as a seat.
Customer Review: retro step-stool chair Summary: 4 Stars
This cute little chair is a modern version of the one we remembered as kids. The good thing is the bad thing...this new chair doesn't have the heavy chrome body that the original one had. The original was very sturdy, which was its downside. It was extremely heavy to move and fingers got easily pinched when pulling out those steps. This new version glides smoothly. Yes, the parts are plastic, but they work just fine and our grandsons absolutely love being independent and climbing up and down on their own and sitting at the dinner table like big boys.
Customer Review: Not the Original Summary: 3 Stars
This is definitely not as well made as the original. It's also smaller and the pull-out bottom step will come sliding out every time you move it and the step frequently slides out of the plastic track that it glides on. Unfortunately, this is the only chair/step stool of its kind that we could find. It works "okay", but I seriously doubt that it's going to hold up like the originals and the smaller size is a very real detriment. Cosco could have engineered a much better product, but like so many manufacturers today, took the cheap and easy way out.
Customer Review: Would not buy again Summary: 2 Stars
Bought this for my toddler because she wanted to sit at the counter with mom and dad instead of her high chair. My biggest complaint is the steps do not stay in place when they are pulled out. Every time my daughter sits in the chair, she ends up kicking the steps back under the chair, and then she can't get down easily (or I'm constantly pulling he steps back out). Also, the material on the back is thin and not durable. We bought this in the fall and already have 3 little holes in it. Otherwise, the color is nice and assembly was not bad.
