Customer Review: Better off buying assembled from a store

We bought one of these chairs at a local retailer a few years ago, and our kids love it so I ordered another from Amazon. The cost was higher (because "free shipping" is never really free), and our chair arrived without key pieces in the assembly kit. When we contacted Cosco, we found that the parts are on backorder...seems like ours is not the only chair without these parts. They offered to send them when they come in--three weeks from now--but we are without the chair until then. I purchased this chair to replace one that was wobbly and had seen its last days! It even had a plug out of the seat and a rip in the seat back. I was not disappointed with the Cosco Retro Chair/Step Stool. It is easy to assemble, and looks great. Further, it is very sturdy and will support over 275 pounds easily. This is the most sturdy step stool/chair combination on the market in my opinion (without going to commercial grade.) The purchase price from Amazon was lower than could be found elsewhere.Customer Review: Retro stool

We got this stool after my mother in law had got one for her kitchen. We leave it in the kitchen. I can sit on it while wanting a rest during cooking. We have regular stools on the other side of the counter. I can sit and chat with my family and friends when I am in the kitchen. I use it as a stepping stool often to reach for things in the cabinets. However the assembly was a pain. The holes and screws are not always alined nicely. My husband spent a long time assembling it and didn't seem too happy.Customer Review: smaller than imagined. good quality

Put this together myself on a Saturday. Would recommend an electric screwdriver. Seat small cannot fully sit on It as you would a chair
Steps tight and narrow and moves in and out of the bottom easily. Parts well made solid. Instructions could be a bit more clear. One advantage is this fits nicely in the kitchen and does not take up a lot of room, being that it does not fold up. Brings back memories of grandma spending hours in the kitchen with her. Small but cute and well made.

I bought this stool for my daughter to use in her 6th grade classroom. It serves as both a step stool for retrieving needed materials on top shelves in the classroom, and a place to once in a while sit in front of the students. She loves it! Lori thinks it's the coolest (and it is!) addition to a classroom, and the bright red color makes it a happy fixture in the room.
