Tools and Hardware Reviews of Crawford-Lehigh RC40 40-Feet Retractable Clothesline

Customer Review: Okay, with adjustments
Summary: 2 Stars

The basic clothesline works fine, but the hook for the line broke after the second time using it. It just wasn't strong enough to hold up the clothes on the line. We found a stronger hook, longer screws and so far everything is working fine. The unit should really come with fasteners that will actually support a line full of wet clothes!

Customer Review: As Advertised
Summary: 4 Stars

This item is light blue, not white as it appears in the image. No problem for me, since my house is light blue with white trim. The clothes line is heavy polyvinyl. It pulls out and retracts just fine. The clothes line container is a bit larger than expected. I'm happy. No problems. Works great in my backyard. I use my gas dryer less!

Customer Review: Smart way to help save on your gas & electric bill
Summary: 5 Stars

I used this item all summer. I was very pleased with it. No problems. Extra long cord. I have a super small yard so this is a great way to hang clothes out to dry and then when done I can retract the cord, So that the cord is not always out for viewing. Great Buy!! Great way to help reduce your carbon footprint.

Customer Review: Retractable Clothesline Works Well
Summary: 5 Stars

Like others have said, the anchor bracket underneath works much better than the old cone shaped things on the side. With this arrangement you can pull the line tight by pulling it toward the anchor while you pull the line on the other side of the anchor toward the reel hole.

Customer Review: Sturdy, worth the money
Summary: 4 Stars

A great clothesline. Very sturdy. Go to the hardware store and get some extra screws and an extra hook, and voila, you can use it outside in summer and move it into basement for winter. If you are drying a heavy load, you'll need to wrap the line around the bracket twice.
