The reviews really helped! This works perfectly but you do need to adjust the line and tighten it underneath each time. It just takes a moment. It retracts very quickly and easily. We purchased this clothesline for a space under 40 feet. When the line is out for any length under 40 feet it is not taut, so when you put the clothes on it it falls to the ground. We are returning this clothesline.Customer Review: Works Fine

This is a very good product, although it appears to be cheaply made and would be very easy to make yourself; however, the product is accurately represented, and for $12 you can't go wrong.
