Customer Review: Okay, but not very good for anything heavy.

The concept of this is good. It seems like a great idea. However, in practice, any heavier items stretch the line so that the items almost brush the ground. I'm not sure if the line itself stretches or if the holder doesn't keep the line from spooling more out under the weight of clothes hanging on it. Not horrible - I just put the heavier items on the ends of the line. The best thing available for the purpose; maybe someone will tweak the design.
Incidentally, the round plastic piece holding it to the hook broke. Again, not horrible - I just tied the cord around the remnant of plastic and it stayed fine.

Rec'd my outdoor clothesline just a few days after ordering it. I had a similar one that was worn out. I almost purchased one on-line at another store for almost double the price. I use this clothesine all spring and summer. I have it attached between a few trees in my backyard and since it's retractable it is not visible when not in use. It's a good lenght to fit several beach towels or a medicum load of laundry. Great and easy way to "go green" by helping the environment and your wallet by saving on energy costs (by not using your clothes dryer). The best $10.00 you can spend!Customer Review: Exactly what I was looking for.

The Lehigh is a great clothesline. I bought 3, mounted them easily, and use them regularly. The cord winds in easily and securely, and I can wind the cord out to any in-between length without any drop in tension on the line thanks to a very simple hook on the bottom of the device.
I use mine outside, where they are mounted on wood posts under the eaves.
This thing works great. It's inexpensive, hardy, not unpleasant to look at, and reliable. I don't see any reason to buy a different model.

Received the product quickly and installed it with some heavy duty wood screws I bought from Home Depot. Hung my first load of laundry on it, and it seemed to hold well. When I removed my clothes the plastic hook that the vinyl line is tied to broke. I'm going to contact the company and ask for a new piece. Although I may just end up removing the broken plastic part and tying a loop at the end of the line.
We'll see if this thing holds up - as the rest of the product seems fairly sturdy.

A nice retractable option for a clothesline for those who prefer to dry outside using FREE sunshine or don't have the room in the house for a dryer. Easy to put up with provided hook & screws which allows me to slide it off after each use as to only put up when needed. If not using the entire 20 feet of line, there is a cleat on the bottom of the unit that you can wrap the slack around that enables you to increase the tension of the line & not worry about clothes dragging on the ground.
