I have used this for all finishes from oil based interior and exterior primers, and interior and exterior latex. Thinning is required but the finish is superb. The cost, quick color changes, and ease of cleanup are great. It is a hassle working with the small jars but I mix enough for 2-3 jars. Then I'm good for 30 min of spraying. The other review about clogging was all wrong. The problem was in the paint not the Critter. When it clogs it means the paint needs thinning or straining. Old unstrained paint clogs any sprayer!Customer Review: Only adequate

I bought this for spraying glazes on pottery. It's convenient to be able to use standard mason jars for glazes, though changeover isn't as easy as you might think. The spray pattern is circular and can't be adjusted. The week after I bought this I got one from Geil, and it is so, so, much better, at just a little more money. The Geil gun has been adapted to spray glazes, from an original paint sprayer. It has an adjustable spray pattern, and the fluid and air flows can be adjusted right at the gun.Customer Review: Surprisingly good peformer

I bought my critter based on the advice of others, doubting that a simple siphon-type gun could perform as well as the more complex spray guns. Surprise- it does. I haven't tried spraying latex paint, but I've had good luck spraying various varnishes and thin coats of shellac. The use of small Mason jars is one of the best features of the Critter; you can swap finshes, and keep a couple jars full of solvent for quick cleaning. A great addition for any woodworker's or boatbuilder's shop.Customer Review: Simple and effective

This performs exactly as advertised on the description and in reviews. I used it to spray rustolium enamel on window box frames. It works well with the thinned rustolium and because it sprays a smaller pattern there was little overspray/mess from spraying the narrow wrought iron sections of the box frame. Clean up is simple and a snap, and I like the ability to store unused product in spare mason jars. Overall a neat simple product -- highly recommended.Customer Review: a very useful tool for the price

This spray gun is awesome for pre-painting trim before installation. Super easy to clean and switch colors. It paid for itself the first day I used it. I broke it trying to remove a paint jar that had dried onto the gun, and replacing it was an easy decision. For the price (they practically give it away), it's a no-brainer. Everyone who ever does any painting should have one. Oh, as long as you have an air compressor to run it.
