I can't say I noticed much difference in my water after replacing the 50 micron filter with this one because I don't have a big problem with sediment. But I am pleased that the flow rate in the house doesn't seem any different. It's been installed about 2 months now. I expect it won't last as long as the 50 version but if my water is cleaner then it's worth it.

I learned something the hard way -- CHANGE THE FILTER REGULARLY! I was waiting for the flow rate to go down as a sign to change this filter but it never decreased. Then a month or two ago I noticed the water starting to smell and it really got pretty bad. I'm on a well so wasn't sure if it was the ground water changing but then thought of the filter. Oh my gosh, it was gross. Black & slimy & stinky and the paper had torn so the water was flowing right through with no filtering, hence no pressure loss.
This was about 6 months use on a well (no chlorine) which was way way too long at it turned out. I'd say the filter should be changed every 2 months.
