Tools and Hardware Reviews of Culligan D-250A Level 4 Sediment Replacement Cartridge Set 2-packCustomer Review: Works as advertised, Some myths debunked Summary: 5 Stars
Hi, I have ordered these from Amazon before and have been happy with my purchases. I spoke with technical support due to some comments in the reviews and here are my comments:
1. The product is D250A as amazon states...A filters more (MTBE, VOCs and so on). Bottom line for me, pick 250A
2. The product Amazon ships is labeled Culligan and is D250A, no bait and switch here since I have been ordering these
3. There are two parts to this filter, together they are not NSF certified but one of them is, if this was to be purchased separately, it would be labeled D40A. I forget which one of these two support indicated was certified. This makes sense to me. Bottom line, it filters what I want, certification or not and in this case, it's a legality that because filters are bundled together, they are together not NSF certified.
4. May I suggest, buy with confidence! Hope this helps people on the fence that are all worried that they are not getting a product they are paying for.
Customer Review: Good filter but check for damage immediately upon receipt Summary: 5 Stars
Been using this filter for a few years and have no complaints. It filters out a ton of crap you don't want to be drinking but be sure to check for damage or breaks in the carbon because it is brittle and can break easily. If there is a serious break the water will go THERE instead of through the smaller areas and defeats the whole purpose of filtering. I bought two and saved one for 6 mo later and after I opened it, both filters were cracked, rendering them useless. Amazon let me return them but I waited too long and by then it was just too much hassle to return them so I wrote it off.
So, mostly good results.
Customer Review: High priced but effective. Summary: 4 Stars
As with almost all water filtration filters and systems, these items are still far too high priced for justification as to recovery of research and development costs. But as long as the American public continues to purchase soil by the bag, air purifiers for every room and water in handy, chilled bottles, the costs of these items will remain high. Generic manufacturers would do well to offer these items for the sake of all people. Until that time, we, as Americans, have only ourselves and our fears to blame for the costs and expenditures we allow and encourage.
Customer Review: Limited Review Summary: 4 Stars
So far so good. I've had the filters about 1 month. My water tastes fabulous. We had good water before, but I was unsure of it because it's well water. Now the water is awesome and I'm not worried about contaminates. These filters are supposed to do 500 gallons. I'm in the early use of them so time will tell how good they are and weather they live up to the manufacturers claims. It's certainly better than bottled water and way cheaper.
Customer Review: Don't buy Summary: 1 Stars
The company charges more for these Culligan D-250A filters
but ships the cheeper non Culligan brand filters.
So u may as well just buy the cheeper non Culligan brand filter.
In fact after this experience I am not sure I would trust anything on Amazon again.
especially since both filters are listed by the same company on Amazon ... so its a bait and switch.
