Tools and Hardware Reviews of Culligan ISH-100 Level 2 Inline Shower FilterCustomer Review: easy to install Summary: 4 Stars
I installed this myself, just followed instructions and it was very easy to get on right - my existing shower head fit right on to this filter - it does leak a little (but not bad) where I screwed filter to shower arm, I'm thinking I need to take it off and add a couple more wraps of the teflon tape, which came with it - haven't yet done that. I haven't tested the water, but it has a strong flow and seems to be working fine - I'm happy with it. four stars because it leaks a bit, but hopefully can fix that.
Customer Review: Design flaws fatal to product Summary: 1 Stars
No reason to explain what I needed this product for, that much, just given the product description, is obvious. The major fault is a construction/design flaw in the joint between the metal swivel that attaches to the shower pipe and the plastic assembly of the filter system. In short, it does not seal and cannot be tightened, thus sending spray in outward (ceiling, sides, etc.). If that would be adressed, this would be a decent product I could use. As it stands now, however, it is a $20 piece of trash.
Customer Review: Did nothing for me. Needs to be redesigned. Summary: 1 Stars
I bought one of these in the hopes of just getting rid of some of the stuff that makes my water hard. Unfortunately, this unit does nothing. My skin is still dry, and I notice no difference. Also, that threads that the showerhead is supposed to connect to are made of such a soft plastic, that they don't even strip, they simply fall off. I will not be buying another gimmick like this, I am gonna just save up my money for a real water softener. Don't waste your time with this item.
Customer Review: Lasted for 1 year then plastic neck broke. Summary: 2 Stars
This shower filter adapter was an inexpensive way to filter my shower water. We loved it, as the water did not feel as harsh and even smelled better. Unfortunately the neck of the adapter that screws in to the piping, developed a leak. Not more than 2 weeks after, the shower head simply broke off at the adapter connection. The plastic is simply not made to last for very long. Oh well, will be purchasing the hand held filtered shower head from Culigan to replace the plastic one.
Customer Review: Great Product - Highly Recommended Summary: 5 Stars
1st - Amazon shipping and delivery - ordered Wednesday, Arrived on Friday. 2nd - The filter itself - installed it, no chlorine smell whatsoever from my shower head now! That's what I was looking for. Install it correctly and it does not leak or swivel around - make sure you wrap the threads like they tell you, and tighten it until it stops swivelling (I used a pair of adjustable pliers as hand tightening was not enough), and there'll be no leaks. Glad I got it.
