Customer Review: Great tasting, convenient, but slow flowing

This is a really nice product. The water tastes great after being filtered through this system. We have extremely hard water where we live and after being filtered through this system, the water tastes better than any bottled water you'll find. We also hated the large units that attach to the faucet and this unit is very much less obtrusive and looks fancy by having a dedicated drinking faucet.
My only complaint would be how slow the water comes out of this unit. I would say it takes about 15 seconds to fill a glass of water. Now that's not long enough to be a complete nuisance, but just long enough to be a little annoying. Overall though, I'm happy with the unit, though if buying again, I might consider a unit that just filters all of the water coming from my main faucet.

Pros:

-changing filter cartridges will be super easy
Cons:
-faucet is a little wiggly and plastic metal piece at base of spout is especially suspect
-only came with a line splitter for 1/2" pipes, but most modern homes have 3/8" pipes.
Tips:
-don't bother drilling holes in your cabinet under the sink, just set the entire thing upright under the sink in a stable fashion.
-if you have 3/8" pipes buy an "add-a-tee adapter" with 3/8" on the ends and 1/4" on the side, plus a thingy to connect that to 1/4" tubing (lowes will know what you're talking about)

Before you start this project, make sure to track down your Teflon tape. Also- when you're figuring out where to place the screws that hold the mounting bracket, be sure you have enough space above and also to the sides of the filter for the hoses. I found assembly to be pretty easy, even considering that I was under the kitchen sink in a very awkward position for a while!
The water tastes great. It comes out slow, but then it's got a lot to get through in order to get to your glass. Did not get the dual stage filter b/c people convinced me that being on city water- nearly all sediment is already filtered from our water so the sediment filter is really not necessary.

I ordered the Culligan EZ4 because it looked like one of the more cost effective systems. Well, I found out why it is so inexpensive. I had the same experience as David Y "under water". The plastic faucet is very flimsy. I was not even close to tightening the nut by hand and the plastic stem broke off. I called Culligan and promptly received a replacement faucet, this one without the Electronic Cartridge Life Indicator. It is not a comforting thought to have such break-prone parts in your plumbing system. What if it comes apart when we are out of the house? Other than that, it seems to work well, the water tastes great and the price is very reasonable. It is easy to install.Customer Review: Worked well, UNTIL the leaks started

This seems like a pretty good deal at first.
It was pretty easy to install and the water quality is good. But after 18 months, the socket that the filter installs into began a steady drip, drip, drip under the sink. I'm pretty sure it's not the O-rings, because installing a new filter (with new o rings) didn't help at all.
Unfortunately, there is no support from Culligan - if I don't want to sacrifice the extra 2 filters I bought, I need to buy this unit over again (no parts available).
No, thanks. I'm looking for another company that actually stands behind their product.
