Tools and Hardware Reviews of Culligan US-EZ-4 EZ-Change Level-4 Under-Sink Drinking Water SystemCustomer Review: Great Product! Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this water filter about two months ago and am very pleased. I chose it because of the poor reviews I had seen of the Aquasana water filter. I was tired of paying $50 a month for bottled water and I wanted a high quality and dependable filter that fit under the sink. Being all thumbs, I was concerned that the installation would take a while or I would puncture a hose and flood the kitchen. The installation was very easy and took about 1/2 hour. The directions are very clear and detailed. The filter is not light (a couple of pounds) and is made of metal. I highly recommend this water filter.
Customer Review: Great system, easy to install Summary: 5 Stars
This system I purchased about 3 months ago. It works great and I am very pleased with the quality of the water. I live in NYC and this filter is like night and day with the city water. I paired it with the watts standard faucet due to other peoples recommendation and haven't had any problems with leaks or things breaking. I took about 45 minutes to install. It's replaced our Brita and takes only a few seconds to fill up a glass. It takes about on minute to fill up a gallon to keep in the fridge. I would suggest it to anyone who has a little bit of skills with tools and some minor home improvement experience.
Customer Review: Excellent filter system Summary: 4 Stars
The only reason I did not give 5 stars is that the mounting system used by all these filters requires screwing the unit into a wall rather than providing a secure upright stand - which I ended up making. I did not use their supplied faucet as I already had a high quality brass unit in place. The faucet supplied is plastic and metal -looks OK. Water filter installs easily, filter replacement will be a snap, and the water is tasteless - no chlorine or nasty flavors remain. Only a reverse osmosis unit provides greater level of water treatment and they require a more complex installation and greater space.
Customer Review: A chain is only as strong as the weakest link... Summary: 1 Stars
...and, in this case, it's the faucet! If you are not willing to spend an additional $50 (+) on a faucet, don't waste you time/money on this product! Like several other raters have already posted, the cheap plastic faucet on my unit broke on installation.
The Culligan insisted that I send the unit back to the place of purchase (Amazon.com). Amazon accepted the return but charged me a $1600 restocking fee (on a defective item)?????
It's the first time Amazon let me down, and the last time I'll buy anything Culligan!
Customer Review: Good Filter...The rest is junk. Summary: 3 Stars
Came missing one of the plastic connectors..No big deal as you would eventually regret installing this thing with the laughable parts sent with it..Went to the big box store and bought copper compression connectors and a decent metal water dispenser..Also bought an in line copper valve to regulate the water pressure to the filter head as I really don't trust the push in and hope it locks hose fittings to the head.
Water tastes fine and even better I can sleep without one ear open, waiting for that awful hissing sound of a broken water connection.
