Tools and Hardware Reviews of Culligan WSH-C125 Wall-Mount 10,000 Gallon Capacity Filtered Showerhead, Chrome FinishCustomer Review: It's a showerhead. It works Summary: 4 Stars
I've been using this for about three weeks now. My skin has improved. Not dramatically. It's still dry but I notice less flakiness. I don't like the massage spray setting. Makes me feel like I'm being pummeled. Two of the settings seem the same to me. I use one of them. I disagree that the spray isn't wide enough. It's as wide as a normal showerhead.
It was very easy to install with the enclosed teflon tape. You only need about 1/4 of what's supplied and just hand tighten it for no leaks. If you must use pliers definitely use a rag to keep from marring the plastic finish. There was nothing in my instruction book that said to remove the stickers on the filter before installing but it's kind of a no-brainer to remove them.
They only thing that bothers me is that it does not seem even close to a low-flow or water saving device. I think it uses more water than my last one, and that wasn't supposed to be a low-flow head. I'd like it to be more eco-friendly but the main reason I got it is for dry skin and it seems to be helping that. I'll just stick to short showers.
Customer Review: Excellent value for a quality showerhead Summary: 5 Stars
It is not hard for me to understand why there are quite a few negative reviews. Some people spend $27 and expect miracles. Obviously, this showerhead isn't going to do the job of a $1200 whole house water softener or R/O system. It is, however, a cost effective solution to hard water in the shower.
We have very hard water here in central Arizona. So far I am very impressed with the WSH-C125. I would even say it is moderately noticeable in how the water feels on our skin. Also, hard water requires the use of much more soap to lather. The showerhead had an immediate effect on the amount of lather created with bodywash and shampoo.
As others have said, even though it says it has 5 different settings, I've found only 3. My favorite is the regular spray setting. As with most economical showerheads, the massage setting doesn't really pulsate like you would like it to.
Note: When they say it requires no tools, that isn't exactly true. I used a crescent wrench to give the connection an extra turn and recommend that you do as well.
Customer Review: Overall a good showerhead Summary: 4 Stars
I found this showerhead to produce more than adequate water pressure. There is no noticeable reduction compared to the showerhead I replaced; it gave me 2.5 GPM, and this Culligan gives me 2.5 GPM. On the message setting, the pressure is almost enough to rip skin off - it feels great! Of course, if you go into this with low water pressure to start with, then you'll probably end up with even lower pressure coming out of the head.
The body of the showerhead is mostly plastic, and it feels light and cheap when removed from the package. I would have liked an all-metal body for durability. The ball joint and collar of the showerhead, however, are metal. The weight of the showerhead feels insignificant until the filter in placed within, and then it has a respectable heft. Installation of the filter was very simple, and the head is designed for future installations to be just as simple.
I bought this to remove the chlorine smell from my water, and it has worked well to meet my expectations.
Customer Review: It's fantastic and a bargain Summary: 5 Stars
We've replaced our showerheads 4 times in the last 15 years. Gradually, even with a good cleaning, they become less efficient, and clogged. I've never really noticed our showerheads before, but as soon as I tried this one, I sure did.
It's very sturdy, and the spray is just fantastic. Like many showerheads, it has a choice of different spray settings.
But here's the best part - the shower comes with a filter that is advertised as reducing 99% of the chlorine which gets rid of sulfur orders and scale.
You notice this right away. This is going to sound odd, but the water just feels cleaner, and has a fresher scent. Couple this with the great spray, and you've got a really terrific showerhead.
The only drawback to this filter is that is has to be changed every 6 months. But it's worth it.
I am now hoping that this showerhead will last a lot longer than my other ones. And did I mention that it's super easy to install?
Highly recommended.
Customer Review: In detroit this is a must... Summary: 4 Stars
I'm currently going to school in Detroit and the water here has quite a bit of chlorine in it. I first noticed when I filled my bathtub and it had that unrealistically blue tint that pool water sometimes has. After living here for a month my hands and feet started getting dry and cracking after every time I took a shower. Although this product did not completely solve that problem... it definitely helped! It sounds silly but I used to have to use lotion on my hands and feet after every shower. Now I only have to after every 3 or 4 showers!!! hahaha
My only complaint is the water flow restriction. I am normally all for anything that is good for the environment so I kept it in. The problem is that whenever someone flushes the toilet the water will basically burn you. That's something that happens normally but the water flow restriction somehow made it worse. Once I removed that, it stopped burning me lol. I'm glad they made it removable!
