Tools and Hardware Reviews of Combat Ant Killing Gel 27grams

Customer Review: Disappointed
Summary: 1 Stars

The best thing about my experience with this ant gel was the fast shipping and overall good job done by the place we bought this stuff from on Amazon.

I bought the Combat ant gel because my cousin told me it worked great for her. Unfortunately I don't have the same testimony. Some ants ate it, most didn't. A month after eating they were still feasting on the stuff. I'm sure it got rid of some but I wasn't impressed. I went to Walgreens down the street from my house and purchased Terro liquid gel. The stuff is like an ant magnet. They swarmed to the stuff and in ONE DAY I began to see a huge reduction in traffic. One month in, I haven't seen ants where I've placed the Terro liquid. When I see activity in a different part of the house I put some down there and get the same results. The stuff cost $3.50.

Customer Review: fastest way I know to get rid of ants
Summary: 5 Stars

I've used this product twice in the past year for major ant infestations in my apartment. Each time I simply applied a few drops of the gel along trails and entry points. The ants started eating it within minutes. Six hours later they were completely gone and didn't come back for months. I'm amazed at how cheap this stuff is considering how well it works. Less than half of one tube wiped out two major infestations 6 months apart. Using this gel, I figure it will cost me about $2 a year to maintain an ant free home. I can't ask for much better than that.

One minor caveat:

When I first opened the tube, some internal air pressure caused a small amount of gel to burst out. So to avoid any potential messes, I recommend wrapping the cap in a tissue or paper towel before opening.

Customer Review: Did the job!
Summary: 5 Stars

I was having a problem with small black ants in the kitchen. It was difficult using a spray since the ants were in areas where food is placed. first tried Terro (had good ratings), but the ants weren't going for the gel. Next tried Combat, and the ants went for it like crazy (had to add more gel to the index card it was placed on). It's important that no matter how many ants come out of the woodwork, to just leave them alone and let them feed. After I checked on them the next day, they were gone and haven't returned. Just because these ants went for the Combat, doesn't mean that the Terro is no good, just that these particular ants prefer the combat gel. I'm keeping the Terro just in case the next colony doesn't go for the Combat gel, but might like the Terro gel (different formula).

Customer Review: Combat does work!! ----sometimes
Summary: 5 Stars

Combat is a great product and will work just fine if used as directed, most of the time, however Carpenter, As well as other ants have a changing appetite. If you use Combat in the early spring when you first see the ants, Combat will be very effective as the ants are very hungry. At other times later in the summer it will not be as effective. If ants do not want to eat the bait, try mixing it with a dab of peanut butter or even honey. Please remember other things, pets and bees will be attracted to the honey or peanut butter so do so with caution.
Even if you think the ants are not eating it some ants mostly very young ants will and it only takes a few eating it to take out the nest.

Customer Review: Useless for me, AND arrogant customer service
Summary: 1 Stars

I had a parade of ants traveling around the outside of my house, constantly. I laid down a good quantity of this stuff, across the path AND along it. The ants took no notice, either walking around it or through it. I never wiped it off, but it did nothing.

I called Combat customer support and described my situation. The guy instantly started to look for ways to deny their "guaranteed to work" promise. When I said I left it on the house for a week and a half, he claimed that I had used the product "incorrectly" and said it would've killed the nest if I'd left it for 20 days!!!

I was irate. These guys make an inferior product and they insult you to boot.
