Customer Review: FINE COMPACT SHARPENER
Summary: 5 Stars

I've had this sharpener for a few years now and use it several times a week, mostly on kitchen knives. Lets me keep a razor edge on them. I used to use it for my tools but got a larger (4"x10") DMT for that, so now it lives in a kitchen drawer.

Customer Review: Sharpens quickly.
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this as my wife had a diamond sharpener and her carving knifes are sharper than mine even though I used a whetstone and file. When it came from Amazon I sharpened my Beretta 2.5 inch, VG10 stainless, folding pocket knife,Trident model
in about 2 minutes. The small depressions in the sharpener, are there for the purpose of catching the metal dust and filings and keeping the surface clean so the
Diamonds in the surface can do their work. That was an excellent idea. The blade was so sharp, that drawing it across my forearm, the hair was cut clean to the surface. You won't go wrong with buying this sharpener.

Customer Review: Works great. Takes a bit of practice.
Summary: 5 Stars

The coarse side really gets blades back into form. I use this differently than most as I grip the handle with the sharpening part point down at an angle I want to sharpen and then brace the bottom part. Then I just go straight up and down with the knife. The fine side gets knives to a nice sharp point, but often I find the coarse is good enough for most purposes and leaves some 'bite' to the blade. If you need help keeping an angle, they make a magnetic angle guide. Just a really versatile sharpener. One complaint that is easily rectified...I kept forgetting which was coarse...blue or red. I just used a sharpie to mark it on the handle.
