Tools and Hardware Reviews of Danco 88822 4-1/2-Inch Kitchen Mesh Strainer, StainlessCustomer Review: works as intended Summary: 4 Stars
I actually purchased this for the times when I need to wash my hair only, meaning when I am not fully in the tub/shower. I like washing my hair in the kitchen sink because it has a sprayer attachment that helps me to rinse easily, and it's better than hanging over the side of the tub. This strainer keeps any and all hair from going down the drain, it's easy to clean, and since another reviewer said it rusts, I always take it out and let it air dry as soon as I'm done.
Customer Review: What a Concept! Summary: 5 Stars
My daughter has a set of these in the kitchen sink of her new home. I had never seen anything like them before, so of course I headed to Amazon.com and searched! What a great way to keep junk from (literally) going down the drain and clogging it up. Such a simple idea, and so practical...as most great inventions are (like the safety pin). This gadget would be especially good for those who are on septic systems, I would think.
Customer Review: Works great Summary: 4 Stars
I finally do not have to worry about food, etc. going down the drain. The drain that came with the sink, drains too slowly and would allow scraps to escape down the pipe when I had to move it or pick it up a little to let the water down. All I do is use a spoon handle, knife, etc. to gently push it back and forth and the water drains and the scraps are stuck in the product until emptied.
Love them.
Customer Review: Poor quality. Don't waste your money. Summary: 1 Stars
This strainer was a waste of money. Within a month of buying it, it broke: the mesh pulled away from the metal rim, making a big hole in the strainer. But even before it broke, I wasn't too impressed with it. The small holes in the mesh easily got clogged by small bits of food, and our sink tended to fill with water. Our old, traditional-style strainer with bigger holes worked much better.
Customer Review: works well...but rusts Summary: 3 Stars
This strainer fits on out sink well and does its job of preventing food from going down the drain and clogging the pipes. However, after only a few weeks it is starting to rust, so although it may state that its stainless steel, it may not be very high quality stainless steel. But, unless there is a better strainer out there I will stick with this one.
