Tools and Hardware Reviews of Dap 18324 Seal 'N Peel Removable Caulk, 10.1-Ounce

Customer Review: VENTILATION ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY!
Summary: 3 Stars

This stuff works well, and I am not even aware of a comparable competitor. That being said, this some POTENT STUFF! The fumes are terrible.

Apply this only if it is nice enough to leave all of your doors / windows you do not apply it to wide open. That, and maybe tell your wife and children to go stay at grandma's for the weekend. So, do not wait until it is cold out to apply it, because you will be sorry (and probably dizzy from the fumes).

They are selling this now with vanilla scent, so you can get high off of it dreaming of ice cream and fields of vanilla!

Customer Review: Seems to be a good product
Summary: 4 Stars

The main reason I'm using this on my windows is because of tiny bugs coming in, but extra insulation couldn't hurt either. When I first started applying it I didn't think the smell was so bad. Smelled like model glue, or maybe rubber cement. About an hour into it the smell became more intense and I had to leave the room and close the door. That was 24 hours ago and I'm back in the room. I can barely smell it now. I probably put it on too thick but I did have some big crevices to fill on these old windows. It's clear and hard to the touch. I think it'll be suitable for my needs.

Customer Review: DAP Seal N Peal Caulk
Summary: 4 Stars

After reading all the reviews, I decided to purchase the DAP Seal N Peal caulk. I installed it on all of my windows, and because I have a 1 month old and 2 year old, we stayed at my parents house for the next day. There is an obvious odor after install, and I was did get a headache towards the end, which may or may not have been related. The bottom line, is that I am very satisfied with this product! I'm sure it will make a difference on my heating and cooling bill. Just don't hang around for 1-2 days after you install.

Customer Review: Beware the fumes!
Summary: 2 Stars

Read what others have posted. I checked in on the product right after I bought and applied it to two windows. It is the worst smelling stuff to ever come out of a caulk gun. Reminds me of plastic model cement, and the dose is huge!
I saw that the stuff works great for what it is intented for, sealing cracks, but after an hour, I had to remove it. I wasn't going to endure a couple days of curing for my health. Please, use adequate ventilation, and don't make the same mistake I did in applying it during the winter.

Customer Review: Buy it. Great.
Summary: 5 Stars

I have a big one-bedroom apartment with TEN French doors on the outside (five balconies) of this 1915 building, and no central heating (in cold Washington DC) but in-wall units. People have spoken of my place as "The Meat Locker" it has been so cold in winter, but the difference is amazing (I just checked and it is 15 degrees out and 70 degrees inside with not much heat cranking). The clear "caulk" is absolutely invisible. I am stocking up in case they go out of business.
