Tools and Hardware Reviews of Dead On Tools DO-300 Killer Chiller Mobile Cooler/Lunch box, Black

Customer Review: Outstanding lunchbox!
Summary: 5 Stars

I tend to carry larger, bulkier items to work, such as Tupperware salad bowls and the larger Nalgene water bottles, and the largest lunchbox-sized coolers I have found before were not large enough to hold everything and tended to break down before the year was out. The Dead On Killer Chiller holds everything I've stuffed it in without a complaint, and still looks (and feels) brand new after three months of use. The two compartments each hold a full meal, a bonus since I have all-evening classes several nights a week. This is the very best lunchbox I've found, and I am (nearly) completely satisfied with it - only quibble was that one of the shoulder strap attachment point D-rings was missing, but there were two other attachment points that solved the problem.

Customer Review: Very good lunchbox, but could be better
Summary: 4 Stars

Purchased two of these for my kids for school (they love the skull/bones, mom hates it). They have good zippers and solid construction, but I can see the lining will tear out after a while. My main complaint though is that there is nothing to keep the shape of the bottom compartment so the whole thing is usually a mis-shapen pile which leads to squished fruit/sandwiches.

A similar sized/shaped lunchbox but superior in most ways is my box from Duluth Trading Company ([...]). It corrects all these problems plus adds a convenient pocket for an ice packet. The Dead On is a super value and very rugged but doing over, I would spent the $35 for the DTC one.

Customer Review: Great Lunch Bag
Summary: 5 Stars

I love the Dead On Tools DO-300 Killer Chiller Mobile cooler/lunch bag. I put the cold stuff in the bottom compartment with a couple Thermos Ice Mat-9 cube mats, and it keeps my cold things cold till I'm ready to eat. I use the upper compartment for chips, bread, fruit, snacks and utensils. The zippers work very well and the outer shell is made out of the same tuff material as their tool bag's. The bottom compartment measures 11 1/2" long X 7 1/2" wide X 4 1/4" deep. The top compartment is an A frame shape measuring 11 1/2" long X 7 1/2" wide on the bottom. I recommend this bag to anyone needing a durable lunch bag that's big enough to hold everything.

Customer Review: just what i needed
Summary: 4 Stars

My dad is so picky about the weirdest things particularly his lunchbox! He had been carrying his old one for years and it was looking super gross, but he refused to get rid of it because he hated the replacements my mom and I bought him. I was so relieved when I saw this one, its exactly like the one he had before only A LOT sturdier. Its plenty big enough to hold all of the sandwiches and water bottles he takes to work, and because of the two separate compartments, his sandwiches won't ever get squished again! I am super happy with this product, but I need to figure out how to get it all un-smushed from when it was shipped to me.

Customer Review: too heavy
Summary: 3 Stars

If you are into protecting food from bears (or hungry co-workers not good w/ zippers), this lunch sack is the one for you.

I never thought I'd complain that something is TOO durably made, but this lunch sack is overkill. The zippers are massive and the material is way too heavy. The (unnecessary) material added extra weight/bulk that made this too difficult to put inside my (large) backpack with other necessities such as books and a laptop.

I can see how something like this would be beneficial for construction-type, workers as an alternative to the plastic coolers some use to carry food, however.
