I wanted something for my garage out in the back yard, thought this would be great since there is no power out there. The light works fine, for now, but it is bovious that it is not constructed well at all. It is no very bright, but enough so you don't trip over stuff. It was very easy to install, and yes, they should have given instructions as to what to do with the metal rod. Took me a minute to figure out that it is an optional brace for the solar panel. If it cost any more, I would pay for the shipping to return it. I would NOT buy another one from this company, but DO PROMOTE the use of solar power in any way possible.Customer Review: Poor Quality

I purchased 2 of these on the same day. I found them expensive at approximately $25 each, and certainly not worth the quality. They are cheaply assembled, I could tell because one of the lights would go off if you shake it the wrong way because the batteries move out of place slightly. also the light lasts less than 5 hours on a good charge. One of the lights has a loose connection and wont TAKE a charge unless I wrap the cord around the light to hold the wire in the only position where the contact is properly made. This has all led me to conclude that there is too much of a gap between the quality and the price.Customer Review: A JOKE

Light was obviously a return from someone else by the looks of the packaging, torn cardboard with taped up tears. Picture shows that solar panels fill the entire area of solar panel frame. This one doesn't even fill half of the frame with solar panels, the remainder is just black plastic! Broke a finger nail sliding HI/LOW switch to HI only to find out that it wouldn't slide back to LOW at all! The lights would only stay on when I squeezed on the housing, otherwise they would just flicker or go out completely. Overall, the quality of this product is pathetic and cheap and I would not recommend purchasing it.Customer Review: Hit or miss

I can see why there is a dichotomy with the ratings. We purchased two of these for our detached garage. One of the lights gives off a relatively bright light, enough to find one's way around with ease at night. The other light was not as bright. The light has a hi-lo switch, and even on the 'hi' setting, the dud-light gave off only a dim glow. We did not return it for another light because after the hastle of installing this light with the solar panel on the roof, it didn't seem that important to us. For future purchasers, remember to give it a test run before installing.Customer Review: Designers Edge L-949 10

I love this light, it is amazing. I purchased one about 3 years ago and have had it since. It will hold its charge for hours. I now use it in our 12x10 storage unit and it will light up the entire unit. This is perfect if you live in an area with power outage issues during hurricane season. I have been looking for the same one since and this is the first time I have seen this light since I purchased mine.
I am going to buy more so I can continue to save energy and keep my electric bill lower. So glad I found this online.
