Customer Review: Comfortable and appealing heat

The Dimplex CS1205 is small and has no thermostat built in, but it is very comfortable to sit next to (instantly warms your feet), and works great as supplemental heat on cold mornings or to heat a small room as the sole source in our Pacific NW winter (very little snow). It's appealing to watch the flame, and the stove is not hot to the touch. I now have two of them, one in the studio and one in the kitchen. I have no idea of its durability yet, just bought mine last winter when I grew tired of stoking the wood stove.Customer Review: didn't work well !

I purchased this heater for my son to help heat his small living room to use in addition to his gas heat. It worked great the first day. My daughter in law loved the size and said the flame was a nice touch too. The second day however it sparked when she turned it on and the high setting wouldnt work at all. We returned it with no problems (the return procedure couldnt have been easier ! ) I was refunded the full amount. I wish it had worked better because they liked the product ..despite it not operating well.Customer Review: Nice to look at....

but the heat output is not that great. I have a portable Honeywell heater which puts out more heat than these electric stoves and paid half the price for it. In order to warm my rooms up (I purchased 2 of these Dimplex CS1205 stoves) I leave it on all day & night and my rooms are not even close to 400 sq ft. I'm giving it 3 stars because it does heat up the room, but takes a lot LONGER than 15 minutes as one reviewer wrote. It takes about 10-12 hours to heat up a 15x15 room nicely (about 65 degrees).Customer Review: Really Doesn't Heat Much

I have to agree with the handful of disappointed folks. I was so excited for this heater. It looks as charming as I'd hoped, but when we put ours in a chilly 12X14 back room it felt like warm breath was coming from it, but not much more heat than that. In fact, we get more heat from our tiny $24 Lasko ceramic heater. I think if I run this Dimplex for an hour, it can warm the room up just a litte bit, but I'm left to wonder: is the room just too cold to warm up? I love this little heater. I use it in my bonus room that is over the garage and not as warm as rest of the house. I also have the ambience of a fireplace while I am doing my scrapbooking. Great price. I ordered it on a Thurs. at 3-3:30 and it was at my door Sat. morning at 10:00. Also it doesn't get hot so when my grandkids are over, don't have to worry about them getting burned. I wouldn't mind having some more of them for every room just for the ambience of a fireplace in every room.
