This is a cute room decoration. As auxiliary heat in a tiny room, it might even keep you warm. But as primary heat, in an average sized room, it's purely decorative.
As I write this, I'm sitting less than three feet from the heater, which has been running all day. It's 61 degrees in this room, and I feel absolutely NOTHING coming from the heater. The floor directly under the heater is pleasantly warm, and standing over the heater, within a foot of it, you could warm yourself a little. That makes this a pretty lame excuse for a heater. But the 'fire' illusion is amusing in a dark room (and ONLY in a dark room).
So in review, it's VERY cheap looking plastic. It's a dust magnet that has to be wiped down daily. It has to be disassembled when the light bulb that creates the image of 'fire' burns out, or when too much dust collects on the inside of the front plastic panel. The mirror that creates the 'fire' image reflects the colour of the floor unless, all the lights are turned off. It has no thermostat. And it won't keep you warm.

Bought this stove because it was a great size for our living room - not too big and it gave enough heat to warm that room and the hall. As an added benefit, my 6 year old is glad that Santa now has a "fireplace" to come to our house.:) The only thing I don't like are the "coals and logs". They really don't look too real. Someone had mentioned that they colored the logs darker on another stove and that is a good idea but this stove doesn't open from the front so you have to wait until you change the bulb from the back. Simple on and off switch for the fire and the heat - no temperature control. Good product for the money but if you want a super stove that is not too much bigger, choose the CS3311. Very pretty log placement and really looks like a fire. Also has the remote that you can press and turn the stove on and off. If you can spend the extra $50 approximately, choose the CS3311. I can understand how people choose one for each room. I have bought three but my favorite has the remote and pretty "fire".Customer Review: 3 years and running strong - Now I want to buy another one!

You simply can't go wrong for the current advertised price. I purchased this model several years ago and it is still as good as new. I am still impressed with the heat generated from a small unit and the resemblance of a flame is brilliant. This unit does not get hot to the touch but blows hot air at the bottom that travels across a room at a respectable rate. Unfortunately I do not know what this unit really costs to run; however, I never noticed any large spikes in my electric bills when my usage increased do to colder climates. Recently a friend mentioned to me he was looking for a space heater and my Dimplex electralog immediately flashed into my thoughts. Now here I am trying to think which room in my home can use another one :) This unit is light and durable. I am very happy with its dimensions b/c I prefer a unit that is not bulky. If you are looking for an affordable and pleasant looking heat source for the cold chilly nights of winter I highly suggest you put this on your list.Customer Review: Great little stove with most realistic looking flames

I bought this unit for our sunroom for the winter season as it tends to get a little cold at night even though it has baseboard heat. It looks just great in all aspect and does the job keeping the room warm even when it's well below freezing outside. The moving flames is by far the most realistic I've seen because it doesn't just project an image onto a black background behind the logs like all the other products, which tends to make the flames look like it's not coming from the logs. Instead, it projects the flames through a translucent panel that mirrors the logs, which also makes the logs look deeper and the stove bigger. The only problem is that the reflectivity of the panel gives the impression that there's a mirror on the back of the stove, which is unusual. The other feature I wish it has is a variable temperature thermostat so it can automatically cycles to maintain a set temperature. But all and all, for the price, I would highly recommend this product.Customer Review: Just what I wanted- But...

I was really excited to get this! With the cost of oil in our 1800's rental I was REALLY REALLY excited!! It came just 20 minutes ago and it is already up and running and warmed the room very nicely! I posted a handful of pictures of it too. Flame looks very real, and right now I started it on high and you feel like you are walking by a fire when the warmth hits you. There is a slight fan sound, but nothing you wouldn't expect when there's flickering flame next to you! Just adds to its realness! The ONLY think so far that I am really really bummed about is I paid $104. and within 4 days now it is only $88???? REALLY??? Who can I talk to for a price adjustment like at a store. If a product goes on sale within a week and you have the receipt aren't you supposed to get the difference. For $104 I would give it three stars because it is pretty small unit and that's a lot of money, for $88 I would have given it 5 stars because it's perfect for that kind of money!!!
