I was looking for another heater, my amish just wasn't heating up our home the way I needed. My daughter has one end of the home and I have my room and bath on the other end, the living, dinning, and kitchen are in the middle and open. I ordered this heater, it's small and blends right into the color of my fireplace and is not noticeable. I turn it on late, about 7pm (GA), on low and it keeps my home around 60-65 all night even when the temp is 30 at night. Even my room is comfortable, I have my amish heater in my room and rarely turn it on in the mornings for about 30 min if that. The heat comes out the bottom and I've had several people walk up to it and put their hands in front of the "fire" and say how warm it is, then I point out it's a fake fire. The fire looks like burned up wood in a pile.Customer Review: A Great Little Heater!

With some reservations, I bought this small Dimplex CS1205 heater for my bedroom because of some cold air coming in both my windows (when winds blow). I was very happy to know that this heater was like having a fireplace in my room instead of a 'little heater', as I described it to be. I would recommend this compact stove to anyone who was looking for beautiful flowing heat and the looks of a fireplace (with the incredibly real looking fire in the front). One reviewer made a suggestion of replacing the 60 watt bulb (contained in the unit) with a 7 watt night light, which I did, and got the same real effect of a fireplace - and less electricity. All in all, this was definitely not the boring, small heater I had visions of before I bought it.Customer Review: Don't Throw Your Money Away

The reviewers who rave about this stove--find out how long they've had it. I raved too, until my first one broke, after the second month. I've since had two more and they broke too. It's been about 6 months since this started. That's a short time to go thru 3 stoves.
The first one had faulty wiring (the plug would get so hot the plastic started to melt) which I caught before anything disastrous happened. The second one just quit after a month. The third one started sparking and shooting flame out the bottom. I was lucky I was home and had an extinguisher handy. All this and the winter season isn't over yet. This will be my last return. I can't take a chance on my loved ones being hurt by this thing's poor build quality.

I'm hoping this works a long time but so far so good! I've had it for abotu a month and it's in my dining roon which also includes my kitchen and it's really heating things up for its size. It's very nice having this little fire by the table at night. So nice in fact I put it on all the time even when no heat is required. Love the coal, better than fake logs. It looks more real. The only thing I am sad about is I was incapable of finding a corner one in this size... so I just angled this one and it works... not as good as a real corner one but oh well...
Where I have it I don't mind that it doesn't have a remote but I can see how that would become an issue eventually.
You wont regret your money. Good quality/price ratio.

It is much more than I had expected for the low cost. You can use the fireplace without producing any heat or use one of the 2 heat settings. There is a fan to blow the heat. The heater is all under the unit blowing heat straight out warming the floor area and it rises heating the room. It is so quiet. The flames look real along with the flickering embers. As the heater works you could sit a child on top and they would not get burned. The top, sides and back actually have a cool feeling and are not one bit warm. If I would had known this was such a good product I would had spent more money for one with the remote control and opening door. There is no heat to the flame that extends to the inside of the top. What a wonderful unit.
