We bought this heater to warm our bedroom in our unheated country bungalow, and to provide something of an alternative to a "real" pellet stove. It's great as a heater. It of course has no thermostat or remote control, but the high and low settings provide some variability, and the unit worked like a trooper, day in and day out, for 5 days straight. I find the visual to be very pleasant to look at. I compared it to the Bionaire (cheesy), and I like it even better than the larger unit that Dimplex sells, which has some cheesy-looking red tinsel on the fake logs. We're very happy!

I used this little heater to warm a 10' X 12' room in New England last winter and it worked great. This was the only heat source in the room and even my infant and toddler grandchildren were comfortable. The "flames" look very realistic and add a warm glow to the room. This a fan-forced heater is much more efficient than the oil-filled heaters I used previously (more heat output for the same cost in electricity). It has three settings: high heat, low heat, and flame only. I have enjoyed my safe, durable, inexpensive and decorative Dimplex stove for over a year and highly recommend it.Customer Review: Great Electric Stove - but Short

Bought this electric stove to warm our newly-build screen porch over the fall and winter months. The stove is a bit on the short side; but after reading some other reviews about raising it, I decided to build a makeshift hearth from the left over floor tiles. Still have work to do on the hearth, but the stove's overall effect was so greatly improved that we decided not to purchase a larger one. Even without the plexiglass windows installed, this little heater warmed the room a bit. Bought this for use in the Cleveland OHIO area. Very nice attractive unit, flames look real. The item is ready to use right out of the box. Just plug in. Its very efficient in heating a room upto 350 sq.m. I would recommend buying this for use in your family room (as we have it) or bedroom. Whisper quite and very efficient.
UPDATE: March 2011
Unfortunately this died, no more warm heat. Nevertheless, AMAZON were amazing not only did they refund the costs but also arranged for the defective piece to be picked up ...great customer service.

For the price it's a good little heater that looks like a real stove. It almost looks like a real stove but not quite. 8/10 or so for realism. It has a mirror that reflects the "flames" which actually makes it more real. When the room is completely dark it somehow doesn't look as good.
The heat it puts out is noticeable and sufficient, although I wish the heater part at the bottom was a little less conspicuous. Ads a nice atmosphere to the room. I can however, notice a pattern or two to the random flames. All in all it's a good electric stove.
