Customer Review: False alarms on cold nights?

When I saw this I thought it might be good to place on my sliding glass door for when we are out. So I installed it and set it overnight the first night. I was wakened at 1am by the blaring alarm, too groggy to realize if there was an intruder or not. I dashed to the door, a sitting duck if there had actually been an intruder. Gladly, not. I reset it and was awakened again at 3am by another false alarm! I can only imagine the 45 degree temperature had something to do with it. It has a little magnet fob that goes next to it, and when the alarm is separated from the fob, the alarm turns on. But two false alarms in one night? I don't care to try it another night.
I can't leave a device like this in my home unattended, it could false alarm while I'm away, and actually announce to the neighbors that I'm NOT at home. Into the junk pile, or to the returns desk.

Two months ago I bought three of these items and installed one on each entrance to my house.
My primary reason for buying these devices was to keep my two year old daughter and my three year old son from sneaking outside. I'm embarrassed to say that the two of them escaped early one Sunday morning and went to the next door neighbor's house to play with their friends, but now the kids won't open the doors when "the squeakers" are on.
Of course there is also the added benefit on security!
I have these units on two normal doors and on one sliding door. I haven't had any problems with false alarms or with the units falling down and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT!

I bought this along with another brand personal carry type alarm.This doberman unit is well constructed,very small in size similar to a small hand held voice recorder.Is it worth the money? does it perform? i think it is certainly worth what is charged,and maybe a little more. Could be a little louder though,but in a small home or Apt,this will be great,and is super easy to install.As i suggested in my other personal alarm review,i insist that a handgun is the best line of defense over any alarm,but this doberman might just give you the time you need,and scare off that would be attacker to call police,or get your handgun ready to take out the threat.Customer Review: Inexpensive security device for my need...

My husband has AD and can unlock the doors and leave the house...this small
device , is very inexpensive, and easy to attach to each door. I also found
that it works well to leave on as a 'break-in' alarm...I arm it when leaving
the house and if the door is used it makes a very, very loud alarm noise, more
than likely scaring away the unauthorized person! This product was also much
less expensive on Amazon than what I found locally at 'Big Box Stores'.

Another first class sales experience from Amazon! This little product does exactly what it is supposed to do. It is loud enough to scare most away. Just dont turn it on until you have it mounted because if the magnet is not next to the unit it will go off. I, at first thought it was defective until i realized what was going on. All in all worth the money.
