Customer Review: Great Pillow but not for everyone

I bought two of these pillows for a long car trip from NYC to Miami. I installed them a couple days before, and my girlfriend and I tested them out when we drive around town. She absolutely loves hers, while for me it wasn't terribly comfortable. This is due to the height of the back of my seat and it's position compared to my neck. She's 5'6" and I'm 6'2" so our heads are at very different levels by the headrest - my DogBones pillow was supporting more of my upper back instead of my neck.
We did make use of the second pillow - it makes a great lumbar support pillow, and my gf can't imagine going for a drive without it. Also, I tried it in a different car - w/ taller seats, and it was great. Overall, I think it's a great product but the position is really the deciding factor in whether or not it's comfortable and unfortunately that has a lot to do with the height of the user and the seat.

I had orginally purchased "the bone" back in 1998 @ an outlet store in Georgia when I was driving from New Orleans to Virginia Beach. I used it when driving long distances as well as over 20,000 miles of airplane travel in not so comfortable military air transportation :) The bone was especially helpful to me since I'm on the shorter side & the natural curvature of the head rests on airplanes are not ergonocically suited for me.
It has only taken me 10 yrs to find it again! I'm so excited! I have tried the horseshoe shaped neck pillow, the cervical collar type pillow both of which made me feel like I was being choked. The "Nap" brand neck roll w/ the beads was decent but NOTHING beats The Bone! Do not hesitate to buy one!

I bought this pillow for a friend of mine who needed it for her 94 year old mother, Hallie. Hallie went into the hospital and took her bone pillow which she used to support her head. The hospital staff changed the bed sheets and no one knew what happened to that pillow. Two days went by and no one still knew what happened to the pillow. My friend then drove around for almost one week looking for this pillow. She recieved many confused looks and a lot of "there is no such thing as a bone pillow". I ordered this and it was just what Hallie needed. With the new pillow her neck was now feeling much better. Thank you for having this product to assist people who really need it.Customer Review: Too big for travel, but great for home!

I got this intending to use it as a travel pillow on a plane. When it arrived, it was far too large for that, but I decided to try it out at home, given the glowing reviews I'd read. I'm very glad I did; it's made quite a difference for me. I'm prone to migraines, and tend to lean forward over books when I'm reading (a bad habit, I know), even in a recliner. Putting this pillow behind my neck corrects that habit, and lets me read or watch TV pain-free. It's now a permanent fixture in my living room! I don't use the ties for anything, but they don't really get in my way, and they make it a little easier to grab the pillow, so I don't see any reason to cut them off.Customer Review: If I can give more than 5 stars I would!

I took this pillow with me on my 16 hour flight to New Zealand and 2 weeks driving around the country. All I can say is this pillow rocks my socks. It is not confining like a U-shaped pillow, where your head is locked in one position. This pillow lets you lean which ever way you want but at the same time supports your neck and keeps your head from flopping around. I let my friends use the pillow to nap as we were driving through a mountain pass and they raved about how their head never slid around even as we were driving through windy roads. Definite must buy if you travel a lot.
