This flashlight works as promised. You plug it into the wall to charge it and can store it plugged in so you always know where to find it. There's a little red light on the top that lights when you extend the prongs to plug the flashlight into the wall and the flashlight will not operate when you take it off the all unless you flip the prongs back into the handle turning off the little red light. A bit of an annoyance, but not a problem. The directions don't specifically say you can leave the flashlight plugged into the wall for weeks/months, but it does say there's a mechanism that protects it from overcharging, and the flashlight doesn't even feel warm after being plugged in for weeks. It hangs neatly against the wall, out of the way and still leaves the other wall socket available for use. Highly recommended as a good, always easy to find, always charged up and ready to go flashlight.Customer Review: Sturdy and very bright

Bought this as a replacement for a similar flashlight, which finally broke after too many falls. The Dorcy is much better than the one it replaced; it is solid and easy to hold, with a bright, focused beam. The light won't come on until you fold the outlet prongs back into the light, which is good for both the flashlight and the person holding it. It really is valuable to know that in case of a power outage there is always one flashlight in the house that will work.Customer Review: Rechargeable flashlight

I had used Garrity flashlights for rechargeables for many years until I got this flashlight. My problem with Garrity was they were OK for a couple of uses during early morning chores, and then they would run down. Got maybe 30 minutes, not one hour. This flashlight has at least triple the run time, and is sturdier than the Garrity, which dies whenever it is dropped. I am going to buy another one.Customer Review: Great light

We've had ours for quite a while now and it works really well - we've only had one power outage of any length since the purchase! Seriously, the failsafe flashlight is a very nice product, works well when needed and is so nice that I bought one as a gift recently. It's wonderful to know that one doesn't have to search in the dark to find that flashlight that is never where it's supposed to be!Customer Review: Rechargeable batteries don't last very long

We purchased several of these flashlights for our office just over a year ago and have not really had to use them. However, when checking them to make sure they were in working order, we have discovered one by one, the batteries are dying. They are also not a standard size which makes replacement difficult. I don't think its unreasonable to expect these to last more than a year at this price.
